we've had a lot of tests.  we can't even be submitted to our insurance until our tests are all completed.

since i've never had this type of surgery before i can't say that it's more or less.  it is what it is.

I had VSG and I am sure that there are a lot of tests that are the same, and I am sure there are probably a couple that are different. I really don't think you can have all the testing done in 1 day, but I would say probably in 1 week(5 work days). Especially if you need to have a sleep study and endoscopy. My consultation was on 1-12, and I was in the operating room on 2-24, that is considered pretty fast. Good Luck, my Dr won't even give us a date until all our pre op testing is complete. You will do great, enjoy the journey!  Leslie:)

Hijack!  Hey Leslie!  Looks like you're doing great with your sleeve!  I'm 3 1/2 weeks out and down 27 pounds so far!  Can I ask what you are eating "generalize" and about how much at a time?  I'm still eating mushy/soft foods with the occasional bites of solids and I can eat up to 1/2 cup of food.

Revised to VSG (6/11/09) weighing 253...

well ive been though all the stuff you said already dont need endo cause i had one earlier, did sleep study , but its like ekg, 8 blood samples chest xrays and type/screen, pulmonary testing and a few im sure i didnt mention and yes in one day going in @ 10 for physical ,blood work , chest xrays  and another test, then going to franklin square for a pulmonary breathing test that takes and hour so i decided yes take off the day told mark he said good luck ( my boss) and this is on monday two weeks before surgery so they should have all results sent to doc by then.

Helen -

After all you've been through - you can do this - it's nothing compared to the fight you've gone through to get approved.

And don't worry, the 8 blood samples will ALL come from one needle stick - they won't stick you 8 times!!

I had my pulmonary function testing done at FSHC, too - easy-peasy!

And they will have the results to your doc in plenty of time, but just to put your mind at ease, every time a test is done, ask, "How long before Dr. Vanguri has these results?"

Almost there!!
