Running a Fever

I had surgery on Wednesday, discharged from the hospital on Friday. Was told to keep an eye on my temp. Well tonight it reached 100.5 so I called my Doctor. He advised me to call the office tomorrow morning and make a appointment to see him Monday afternoon. Urgh...I hope I do not have an infection. I am doing well otherwise except for coughing which hurts so bad..I just cannot do a productive cough.

Sorry to hear about the temp. It is good you did not wait to call the MD and will be seeing him Monday. Please let us know what happens.

Your body has just been through MAJOR surgery sweetie and a fever is a good sign that your body is trying to fight OFF INFECTION. This is what I was told when I FREAKED out a day after I was home and ran a temp. lol I was like close to calling 911 I was so panicked. But it went away after a few hours. Good luck at the Doctors. Make sure to use a pillow when you cough honey. My first 12 days home I slept on a reclined loveseat because it was too uncomfy to get into my bed. This will all pass soon honey. ((((Hugs)))))

Hi Kris,

I hope the temp is gone by now and it was just temporarily and not an infection.  Remeber to keep  a pillow with you at all times and hold it on your tummy when you need to cough.
