I haven't attended a mandatory support group meeting so Rose called me but won't

Rose from DVR's office just called to tell me i'm approved.

But, the nurse won't call me to set a date until i attend one mandatory Support Group meeting.

Does anyone know when the next support group meeting at St. Agnes is?  I think it's next TUESDAY!!!   UGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope so but my understanding is that DVR is scheduling 4-6 weeks out already....

we see him July 9th and hope to get a date for at least brian....

it might be a date for both of ya attend the meeting im sure he is at the meetings my doc is so go enjoy and good luck mine set my date before meeting him but is not so good they way the puddy foot around with our bodys we jump the hoops they put fire around it and say one more jump, dam i hate the waiting
now i got pre op and the class then see him and im still afraid something is going to come up and them say nooooo i am not going to be happy untill i wake up from surgery and they said all went ok and your now on the looser bench you know?

He does not attend. I've attended 3 so far.... he is never there.

As much as I want to have my surgery (and could if i would swtich doctors) I know that being made to comply with the doctors rules gives me a much better chance of success than if i go in and get surgery 3 weeks after I ask for it.

I dont' see how or where I'm being made to jump through hoops or the doctor is disregarding my desires or he's disrespecting my needs.

no doc will do surgery in us in three weeks if he is a good doc , you have to take 6mths of classes , see phyc, nutricionalist, and go to meeting during that time once  a week , but depending on your insurance i guess it differs, its just so many of us are going for it now they are so busy they are backed up

One thing for sure I can guarentee you that even if DVR doesnt attend the support group meetings he is there for his patients when they need him. I tell you that from experience. There has not been a day that I have called him and I have never received a called back. 
There are doctors out there that don't even talk with you, their nurses and receptionists talk with the patients and they only see and meet the doctor once. 

I know that his practice has grown and so I am sure that he doesn't have the open availability like before to attend all support groups. But he definitely is their for you from day one!  He has been there for me always and to me he is the ABSOLUTE Best! 

I am glad that you and Brian have chosen him you will not regret it.

CONGRATS ON YOUR APPROVAL!!!

After everything we've gone through to have this surgery, ONE support group meeting is nothing, trust me!!

DVR was at every support group meeting I attended, pre and post-op, and in fact, I reintroduced myself to him at the last meeting prior to my surgery - I wanted to make sure he knew who I was! LOL!!!  When I had to leave my first post-op support group meeting early, DVR called me personally to make sure everything was okay!!! What a man!

Post-op, you'll find that the support groups are incredibly helpful, so please don't discount them.
