Well...I did it! My husband just brought me my laptop and now I can stay occupied between sipping, walking, etc. The surgery went well....I was in a lot of pain right afterwards but it got better as the day went on. I am doing a lot of waking around the floor...meeting other patients and exchanging email addresses. My only set back is that I cannot pee. They finally put a Cath. in and I will get it removed tomorrow morning. Other than that all is going as well as can be expected. My liquid lunch just came...see ya!

Welcome to the Loser's Bench, Kris!!!!!  I'm so glad everything went well!  It DOES get easier, I promise!  Just be compliant with your surgeon's directives, and you'll do fine!

I'm shocked that you didn't awaken with a catheter!  Yuck that they had to put one in!!!

I'll pray for pee!!

Hugs,

Tia

Yay! Glad everything went well! I LOVE LOVE INOVA Fair Oaks hospital. The care of the nurses everytime I have went was great!

Also you know they have interactive TV there where you can order free movies and shows and stuff and surf the internet right from your room right?

Hoping the rest of your recovery goes smooth!

Helen -

Not sure if the new patient tower is open at FSHC yet, but I don't THINK the hospital as it currently stands has wireless.  Give the main hospital a call and see what they say, though.

Welcome to the Loser's Bench Kristin!!  Yeah I am so happy that you posted. I was thinking I was going to go nuts for days until we heard from you.

I am sorry you had a cath put in.  Hopefully tomorrow you will be able to pee just fine after they remove it.

Take care and make sure to walk, sip, walk & sip.... You don't want that gas pain to creep up on ya!  That is the absolute killer.  I am still suffering from gas pain from last week's surgery.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
