Hi Heather,

I was trying not to use the dilaudid today but it was not possible. I could not handle the pain with tylenol it was nt even touching it.
I am doing good considering everything I went through this past week. Thank Goodness!
I am praying that tomorrow I don't have to take these pain meds so I can resume nursng Gia. It has been 9 days since I last nursed her. I have to work hard to rebuild my supply.

How are you doing? Recovering well?  How is Mom & Dad doing?

Kiss the girls for me.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Tylenol is so useless!  Thankfully I'm able to handle some Ibuprofen at this point; it's helping the most for my pinched nerve.  I feel your pain on the not nursing sweetie!  I was in the hospital for 3 days and pumped and dumped my milk (because of the morphine pump), but my supply was SO pathetic by the time I got home.  I tried to nurse Lacie and she kept biting me because the supply was so low and then I had to take Oxycodone for the pain I was having from the pinched nerve since I had a drain and couldn't do the Ibuprofen at the time.  So, instead of working on my supply since Lacie had already been cut off  the boobies (poor little thing; I think we both grieved a bit!) she is on formula and now she's getting 3 meals a day too.  I'm doing and feeling great surgery wise.  Down 20 pounds in 2 weeks, I can eat okay, although VERY little.  I have to work on getting my fluids in better, but it's so hard to do.  I have to get used to not drinking like I could with my band too!  My liver area is feeling better now, it was stinging/burning for a while from all the cleaning up of scar tissue Dr. S did.  My drain area is healing nicely, but I have that icky knot there for now.  If I can just get my back some relief I'll be great!  I'm in PT again and it IS getting better, but it's not soon enough LOL  Mom and Dad are pretty much the same.  Dad's hair is growing back; it's white as snow!  Kisses back to you, Gino and all the kids and grandbabies!!!!

Congratulations Heather.  Hang in there, it is all up hill from here.  How has your experience with your Doctor been?  I was scheduled for surgery with  him back in 2004 but insurance issues stopped that from happening.  But now I am finally having my RNY 7-6-09 a different Dr and hospital though.  I hope you have a great recovery and enjoy the new you.

congrats and welcome to our bench!!!

Whom ever said that people who have WLS are taking the easy way out, have never had this experience.  This is a journey and a major challenge.  Step by step I am striving to make it as a loser!!
