Horrible itching
I need help. Ever since he put me on Avelox last week I have been itching like mad. Mostly my upper torso. The only rash I have is around my wounds which have been there since day 1. I cant stop scratching though and its driving me insane. I wake up 2-3 times a night scratching. All day long. Im getting shaky now to the point where I cant stand to be in my body. Ive tried Benadryl and that seems to make it worse. Any suggestions?
Mellie.....
That sounds like an allergic reaction to the meds! I would suggest calling teh prescribing doc.........
I hope you feel better soon!

Mellie you are having a rough time. I had the same problem on the Avelox but to add to my misery I was unable to sleep. The Benadryl makes me wired and no sleep. Not good.. I will never take that Avelox crap again..I hope you get well soon and glad you went to your doc and that shot will start helping you soon I am sure. Take care and I am here if you need someone to talk to..

I hope it's just an allergy!
Speaking of itching, I always feel compelled to tell my pregnancy story. I was itching like mad in the last few months of my pregnancy. I didn't have any kind of rash or anything, I was just itching like crazy. I literally scratched myself until I was bleeding. Turns out it was something called cholestasis that only happens to something like 1% of women. It has to do with liver function.

I don't know if this only happens in pregnancy or not. I'd suggest bringing this up IF taking you off of that medicine doesn't do the trick. It's really rare, but your symptoms sound like what I went through. It was horrible.
