Well, took my cats to the vet last night.

they are healthy - and Betty's a tad overweight.  SIGH

Anyways, when we told the vet about Betty's actions, he told us that it's a behavioral problem.

He said we needed to spend more time with her; and I told the vet that she goes to sleep near Jerry's legs whenever he plops the recliner up.  So, the vet told me that Jerry's not the bad guy.

I'm the bad guy.  Sheesh.

Because I used to feed the cats after work before going to class when school was in session, Betty's schedule was Mommy would feed them when she got home.

Now, Mommy doesn't come home until after working at JCP - and very late close to midnight- it's being disruptive to her.

So she's retaliating.  SIGH.

Candy glad all is ok. I knew she was mad. I hope that with time if you keep her it will work out. Its so funny how our pets react to stuff. My pug has seizures and when my hubby had heart trouble the dog had a seizure same thing when Father in Law had a bleeding aneurysm.. Pets are so smart..

Julie - you are right - the pets are so smart.  Here's a story to tell  LOL

We feed the cats in separate dishes in separate rooms, because Betty will eat any cat food regardless of whose di****'s for.

When we first got her, she was a slender cat, but she got fat quickly.....

One day, I saw her helping herslef to Holly's dish of fod.  Holly is one of those who eats a few morsels, walks off, exercises, then comes back and eats a few more morsels, and walks away again.  Hubby and I have an inside joke that maybe Holly's bulimic - bingeing, then purging. Anyway, when we saw that she was doing that, we decided to separate the dishes by placing them in separate rooms.  Holly's dish would be close to us, under our watchful eye.

One day, I noticed that the dish was moving.  So was the sheet that was on the futon to protect it from cat hair.

Betty was under the futon, hiding under the sheet, and pulling Holly's dish closer to the futon so that she could help herself to it.

I couldn't believe it and was laughing about it.  To this day, she has not done it again, but I chalk that up to one of the slickest moves that Betty has done.  LOL

I am glad you were able to figure out why your cat does this I on the other hand do not know why our cat decides to use the floor at the front door as his litter box.  Nothing has changed at our house and the darn thing has three cat boxes that are always changed.  Go figure!

Candy thats a great story. These animals are too much sometimes. My friend just told me that her vet said that dogs and cats can see ghosts. What the heck? He said when they bark or stare in space for no reason that they are seeing ghosts. OMG what do you think? Is he crazy or what? We will see about next week for dinner when you are off.

Could it be that the other litter boxes are on cold floors, near the airhandling equipment, laundry room - like us they want peace and quiet and warm floors before they go potty.

My aunt told me to spray Simple Green or something citrusy in the area where she'd keep eliminating at.  If it didn't stop - or if they are doing it right in front of you or other witnesses, it might be a health problem.  She said her one cat kept doing it in front of her and hubby - so she took him to the vet - come to find out the cat has diabetes.

The vet said even the slightest change can upset a cat.  Moving furniture, painting, or getting up at a different time, or a different routine can throw off a cat.

And - oh - we're not to make them confront their messes, they get even more stressed and revengeful.
