TUESDAY'S CIRA UPDATE
I spoke with Cira last night, Dr. Averba*****onsult with DVR, is leaning toward a hernia that is small enough to not show on any scans, yet big enough to cause her pain.
The plan last night was to give her food and see how she reacts, because it was food that was causing her pain, not liquids. If she still has pain today, the only option is exploratory surgery, which of course, she doesn't want, but if that's the only way to tell what the problem is, she's okay with Dr. A. doing the surgery. As you can imagine, she's upset at the thought of surgery, and is stressed out from missing her kids (they're crying for her, too).
I expect to hear from her sometime today, so I'll keep you updated!
Thanks,
Tia

Tia,
Please give Cira my best and tell her I'm thinking of her and not to worry. Easier said than done I know. I went through the same thing about 6-7 weeks ago with the pain with food thing, had oodles of tests and finally saw a surgeon. I had hernia repair a year before my rny, but the surgeon was fairly sure it was back even though tests weren't conclusive. He went in lap on June 4th, found many adhesions, a hernia and loops of my bowel had growed to me. Luckily all was taken care of lap, surgery was like 60 minutes, in recovery an hour or so, back to my room and home on couch an hour later. I was uncomfortable about a week and just a tad tender now. Would be in pool now but silly me decided to have foot problem fixed 2 weeks later so now in surgical shoe for next 8 weeks and no swimming until stitches out friday. Tell her rest, get well and enjoy the summer with her babies :) I know I will enjoy the time off with my grandbabies.
Will keep her in my prayers for a speedy recovery. Maybe now that real life has slowed me down some I can be about more again. I'm sorry I haven't been about giving my support to all old and new as you all gave me. Real life threw me some hard punches in the last 6 months. Both my dad and my younger brother were diagnosised with terminal cancer a few weeks apart, and sadly they died within 8 weeks of each other the first of the year. I've had a hard time dealing with it all and finally got myself together and then this happened, but am looking forward to enjoying life again and being about for all. Hugs to everyone and have a wonderful day:)

Hi Cherryl!
Wow! It's been a long time! I am SO sorry to hear about your double loss, that's too much for one person to bear.
I'll pass along your message to Cira as I just got a text from her and am about to give her a call.
Hang in there and remember we're always here! There are lots of great new people who I'm sure will welcome you with open arms.
Hugs,
Tia
