6 month appointment coming up!

I have my 6 months appointment coming up on July 6th.  I'm actually very disappointed with myself.  I was really hoping to have lost over 100 lbs by the time I see the doc.  I don't think that's going to happen.  I had lost 64 lbs at my 3 month appointment and he didn't even seem like that was very good.  I left feeling like I should have lost more.  :(  Now, I've only lost 31 more (and that's by my scale first thing in the morning without any clothes on!  On his scale, I'm sure I've only lost 25 lbs in the second three months.)  I think I've failed.  :(

((( JENN )))

I understand that Dr. Kligman is very tough to please, but only because he wants his patients to succeed.

Personally, I think you've done an amazing job, and if you look at your numbers, hopefully, you'll agree.

So in not quite 6 months, you've lost 95 pounds - that's a success by any measure!!!

Just continue doing the best you can and follow his criteria - that's all that can be asked of you.  You've been under a lot of stressors, so just try to take care of yourself.

Hugs,

Tia

We all lose at different rates...  And I think no matter how fast we lose, we always want to lose more faster.  Just remember your body has been through a lot in these last 6 months and it will get to where it wants to, when it wants to!

You are only failing if you aren't doing the best YOU can!!

Is it me or does it seem like everyone is trying to lose 100 pounds in 6 months?

My boss lost 90 something in 6 months, and Dr. Singh told her she lost a year's worth of weight too soon - I'm assuming what they meant was that they expected her to lose 100 in a year.  he sent her over to the nutritionist to find out the problem - and Kelly wasn't taking in enough protein so she's supposed to have more protein.

To that effect, I'm trying to figure out is it the other doctors that say you have to lose 100 in 6 months?

What TIA said. 95 lbs in 6 months is AMAZING!!! And I am sure (and I hope), you are also keeping track of inches lost, for yourself, not just to please your doctor. In the end, we did get this surgery for our own sakes. Right? I just got to 101 lbs lost and that's 20 months out! Everyone's body is different; go at your own pace and keep enjoying the shrinking sizes, at whatever pace it might be :)

Thanks guys!  I think it's just that I went with my mom to her 3 months appointment and he told her she was "smokin'".  But, he didn't even seem pleased when I lost more.  I don't think it helps that I'm still exhausted.   Mom got full medical clearance, but she still managed to guilt my husband and I into building her flower bed for her on father's day.  Saturday we had family visiting her from out of town that we had to help entertain.  It's the end of the fiscal year and work is swamped.  Plus, I have taken so much time off lately for Mom.  I really need some down time for me, but I can't take more time off because I feel guilty that I've taken so much time off already.

Well, at least I get to drive to Elkridge on Wednesday for work.  That will get me out of the office and keep me from taking care of everyone!  (They are constantly bugging me to do stuff for them at work too!)  AHHHH!!!!  Calgon, take me away!
