New member - Lap Band 6/16/09
Hi Patti - I'm a bander too- banded 12/16/09. Congratulations on your journey!!!!!
If you want to see what all I did for my liquid diet, you can go to my profile and read up. Hopefully it'll help.
One thing I did to help curb the hunger was drink those Special K water mixer thingies. It helpled alleviate the hunger.
I don't know if it was right for me to do so, but I'd drink more broth, soups and etc. I was downing a can of cheddar cheese soup mixed wiht a can of milk, and drank the entire thing.
Most often, banders may not feel restriction until later after a few adjustments. 6 months out, and after my last adjustment, I definitely feel the restriction.
My anxiety that I had was oh my god am I taking in too much - but just not worry about it, as long as you're doing what you're supposed to do, and within reason, all will be fine. I freaked myself out about drinking 32 ounces of broth - but then I backtracked and realized, broth is liquid. It does get quite scary at first recovering, but as you relearn your body - you'll know the signs and take comfort in relearning what a special person you are!
Good luck and if you ever want to chat - let me know. I live in Baltimore too!

I'm new so I'll have to figure out how to view your profile. We have the same doctor too, Dr. SIngh. Were u operated on at ST. agnes too? (sorry my cap key doesn't always work). I'm in catonsville, right near UMBC and the hospital. I woke up today and took shower, then felt dizzy. Did u feel dizzy at all during the first two weeks on liquids?

Welcome to the MD Board Pattimint. I wasn't too hungry until the very end of each stage which I assume was my indication I was ready to advance. The anxious feeling, however, was there. I chalked it up to that shaky feeling you get when you haven't eaten in a while (or as some of us can attest, when you'd crash diet, which is kind of what the liquid stage equates to, if you think about it).
