Oh, sorry! I went to the gym afterward and did not get home until late. I think it went well. They don't have an official position right now. One should develop in the next couple of months. In the meantime, they have a lot of work that they need to get done. They need someone with the depth of experience that can jump in and get going right away. That suits me fine. So we discussed me working for them in a consulting capacity for a while. I interviewed with 3 people. They will discuss and I should hear by the end of next week. (Yes, I did tell them I was going away on Thursday. They can reach me by cell and / or email me. I should be able to find some way to access gmail if I need to .)
I happen to know a lot of people at this company from prior lives. My reputation is known, not just what they read on my resume. That is in my favor. I even went visiting some folks after the interviews to say hello. There are a lot of things about this company that are attractive. They are growing. They are stable. The work will be both familiar and yet challenging at the same time, which will make it interesting. They were founded in 2000 and were successfully purchased by a large company that has need of their services and expertise.
It is highly likely, if offered, I will accept. This will mean that I will have some logistical things to set up as I will technically be self-employed. Depending on how often invoices for time and expenses are submitted and then how soon they are paid, it could be a month or so before I actually see the cash flow from this opportunity. (I hope I am not jinxing by talking like it is a done deal !) There will also be some travel. I have not done that for business in a while. At least now, I feel more physically able to do that!
So for now, I will keep my options open and prepare while I wait.
Thanks for your interest and support!
