size ?
It really depends on your height, whether your are an apple, a pear or an hourglass, how much of your weight is muscle vs. fat, how loose your skin is, etc., etc. I just bought new jeans this weekend and was astounded to fit into a 14. My husband was calling me "14" all weekend, telling me I was a step above "13" on House, M.D.
I'm 5'4.5" and 175 with an "ample chest." The last time I was a 14, I was 20 pounds lighter than I am now. Two things I know about clothes that keep me honest with myself: The sizes have gotten larger in the last 10 years, and the size 14 Levi's I was in then are smaller than the current size 14 Lee jeans with comfort stretch in the fabric. I know that because I have one pair of Levi's size 16 and two pairs of size 14 jeans that I saved for "someday." (Levi's were always cut small, even back then.) I fit in the Levi 16, but not the 14. Don't know if I'll even fit in the Levi 's14 if I lose that 20 pounds. Even if I don't, I'M HAPPY!
