Does anyone have Carefirst BC/BS of Maryland.  I have my final Nut appt. on this Wednesday with Dr. David Von Reuden and i'm wondering (well i don't know how long it will take for Rose to send in my paperwork to insurance co.) how long doe Carefirst BC/BS of Maryland usually take to respond with an approval.

i'm busting at the seams and anxious to finally have my last supervised Nut Visit.  Everything is done.

I have BC/BS - but I went through this process over 18 months ago. At that time, once the paperwork was sent in corrrectly, the response was very quick. Way back then, Rose had a paperwork backlog and it took a while to get on its way. You may want to keep tabs on where/when your paperwork is submitted.

thanks grammom,

wow, you know i was just reading your post earlier today. are you having problems with your docs office sending your paperwork in or are you having problems with the insurance.

what is carefirst open access?

i saw where you said it's been 3 weeks. is that because your docs haven't sent in paperwork to get approval.

good luck, whatever the issues, i hope they get resolved asap -- b4 that lady goes on vacation! whose got time to be waiting around another couple of weeks for that.

I was approved in February and it took one week for approval.

In January, the BC/BS Carefirst for state of MD employees approved my paperwork in two days.  I called them instead of my doctor's office.  It took my doctor's office a couple of weeks to get back to me after they had the approval.
