Mare:

Not here.  Hubby was all for it, just because of the health benefits.  I was suffering so much from diabetes.  But now he tells me that I'm getting too skinny and I don't need to lose any more weight.  In reality I have about another 25 lbs to go.  I was worried that we would have issues once I lost weight.  You hear all the stories about how people change and what weren't good relationships, just become worse.  But I haven't had any of these issues as of yet.  Our relationship has changed (don't go out to eat as much), but we are hanging in there.

Welcome and good luck with everything!  I'm still losing, but it seems that my belly is the last to go... I carried most if my weight in my belly and back.

My BF has had a hard time dealing with my decision. He did come around about 1 week after my sugery. But I have to admit he since has had a very hard time dealing with my weight loss. He feels that I will leave him, as much as I reassure him that I am doing this for me and no other man (including him) it is a day by day process. I did not include my BF in the process of getting approved....all the testing and appointments, that may has made him understand that this was a needed and the many doctors agreed with my decision. Looking back.....I would say include those closest to you so they can understand and have time to process what you will going through.

Thanks - similar situation here with my hub.  I have to take it day by day, and I hope he does see what a good thing it will be in the long run. He is a foodie and loves to eat out and try new foods; my tastes even now, pre-op, are much more simple and basic - so I cook a lot that I don't eat, LOL, and I will contiue to do that - I love to cook, but I don't like/eat  a lot of the things I make.  One lucky thing - our fave restaurant is a tapas place where they have lots of little plates...perfect!  Thanks again!

Hi Mare and welcome to the Maryland board honey.

I have lost well over 100 pounds and did most of it in 5 months time. I have noticed that the weight in my inner thighs my face and my belly have been the hardest to lose!!! I lost a lot in my chest and my legs and even my hiney. ;o)

Good luck to you (((((Hugs))))))))) ~Jilly~

Welcome to the MD board there are alot of great people here who have alot of info. I have not had wls but am learning all I can before I take the plunge. I too love Rhebs and love going there on Wilkens Ave. I don't care how crowded it is you meet great people there while waiting. I too was told that the S/F is Ashers. I wish they made their own. Take care and good luck with your weight loss choice.

Mare,
I don't have a real answer on where you lost first... the place I am seeing it after the first 86 pounds is my fingers!!  My wedding ring fit when I was in a 24 when I got married - it fit when I was in a 34 at my highest...  Somehow now at a 26/28 it no longer fits?  I have no idea!!  My feet were the first tell tale sign - I no longer had flintstone feet after the first month - water weight?  I don't know, but it is gone!!

I can also tell in my butt... the rest of me has lost a few inches, but nothing to write home about - yet!!

Good luck on the fast track!

Welcome to the Board and best of luck with your upcoming surgery with Dr. Mo.  (Snazzy dresser, isn't he?)
