Update on ME!

Tia pretty much gave everyone the low down. Slip was not able to be fixed and another band was not an option so I now am sleeved, which I'm happy with.  God forbid down the road I need another surgery, Dr. S said that I am able to then go to bypass, but hopefully that won't be necessary.  Recovery has been good so far, each day is better than the last.  My biggest whine is about my sciatic nerve.  Today it's had me in absolute tears so I'm going to get the oxycodone filled just to help THAT pain, not my surgery pain, which is pretty minimal right now.  The drain, knock on wood, isn't causing me any pain and is more of a clothing hassle than anything else.  I get that out on Thursday.  Melissa L is going to help me get to Bayview that day.  I'm at Mom's the next couple of days so they can help me with the girls.  Thank you for all the support and positive thoughts and prayers!

Revised to VSG (6/11/09) weighing 253...

Glad to hear you're doing okay and that you're in PA.  The back pain sucks!!!  Maybe once you're healed, you can get back into PT if that helps.

Hope each day brings you improvement!

Hugs,

T

so glad things turned out ok for you. But OUCH sorry about your sciatic nerve, I had problems with mine years ago so I know how horrible it can be.

I'm glad to hear you ended up getting the sleeve, like you wanted. I hope your back pain goes away soon!  Let me know if I can help you in any way, since I'm right down the street!

You know what? I should have had you put in a word for me with Dr. S and ask him why he STILL hasn't done my peer to peer review LOL.

Hey Heather - glad to hear the surgery went well!  As for the siatic nerve pain, have they ever recommended injections to help reduce the swelling or whatever?  If so, let me know, I have great pain management doctor that helped me stand upright and walk again. He is awesome and I'd recommend him in a heartbeat, which is not something I typically state about my docs.  He works out of Rosedale, Owings Mills and Westminster.
