3 THINGS FOR MONDAY!

Good morning!!  Once again, it was an insanely busy weekend for me, and just underscored my need for our beach weekend!!!!  When I told B I was going away, he was so crestfallen, and said, "Without us?" and when I told him I needed a vacation, he said, "We do, too!"  LOL!!!  He just can't fathom that I would leave them!

My 3 things:

1.  Naps - After being at my brother's all day Saturday with B and two of his friends, I was there again yesterday because my brother was really sick.  His issue?  Horrible gas pains and potty runs - thank God it finally subsided after a HUGE burp!  His CPAP forces a lot of air into him and he's always gassy, but the pain this time had him curled into a ball!  Anyway, I got home around 4:30, made a quiche and passed out on the sofa at 6, with instructions to Mom to wake me at 8.  Mom said I must've been dead, because Happy walked all over me, barked, brought me several toys, and I didn't stir once!!  I felt better this a.m., but I'm STILL hoping it'll be a quick week.

2.  K had a great time kayaking!!!  Her friend won a $400 kayak and they really enjoyed themselves.  Thank God for lifejackets, too!  K said she fell into the water, and the current was SOOO strong that the only thing that saved her was the lifejacket.

3.  The movie "Up!"  O M G, was this hilarious!!!!  IMO, Pixar really outdid themselves with this!!  I took B and his two friends, and I got as much of a kick out of listening to them laugh as I did from the movie itself.

4.  Books - Even with all that I had going on, I managed to get somewhat caught up on my reading, reading two Danielle Steel books within the last week.

5.  That I was able to get my brother's kitchen somewhat reorganized.  I pulled stuff out that hasn't seen the light of day in YEARS!!!!  It's always cathartic to me to get rid of stuff!

6.  That a window a/c unit was installed in my office on Thursday.  Apparently, there's no money to fix the system, so everyone is getting window units.  Works for me!!!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning tia and everyone.

Things I am greatful for:

1. Arundel Mills Mall.  Even though D&B was cancelled I still came up and did some shopping.  I was able to find everything that I needed to make sure my baby is prepared for her cruise to the Bahamas.

2. Almost being finished with getting my Associates Degree in Business next month and can get started on my Bachelors in Hospitality in August.

3. For my daughter who is so into the flowers that she planted into it yard so she make s sure that they are kept up.

4. My OH friends and family that supports me.

5. For the elementary school promotion on Wednesday because my daughter will be moving on to middle school.  She was rated one of the top ten smartest children in the 6 grade at her school this year.

Hope everyone has a great day and week.!!

Whom ever said that people who have WLS are taking the easy way out, have never had this experience.  This is a journey and a major challenge.  Step by step I am striving to make it as a loser!!

Hi Mercedes!!!

Oh my gosh!!  I hope you saw the cancellation notice on D&B in time!!!  I'm glad you got some shopping done though!  And I'm SO jealous of your baby!!!  I hope she has a wonderful time!

Wow!!!  You're a working Mom AND you go to school!!!  I'm in awe!

That's an awesome accomplishment for your 6th grader!!!  Sounds like she works really hard!  Good for her!!

Have a great day!

I Tia.  I did see the cancellation.  I still had to get her some things  so I figured why not take the ride.  I am so jealous of her myself.  I am not going on the cruise with her.  Her god-mother is taking her.

As far a school it gets rough but I have finally made it this far so I can't stop now. I wanted my daughter to see that even though we have some life altering events (me getting pregnant at 18 during my first semester of college)  does not mean that we can not still complete our accomplishment that we set out for.

Thanks, Darla!

I saw on FB that Kathy said "My Life in Ruins" was TERRIBLE!  I still wanna see it, though!  Maybe I'll wait until it's at the cheap movies!!!

Gary's MUCH better today - I almost thought I was going to have to take him to the ER yesterday. He couldn't believe that gas could cause so much pain!

What time is your procedure?  You'll wake up maybe a little crampy and your legs may be sore from the positioning, but I honestly didn't have any other problems, so you might be able to call or text me yourself.  Or have your Mom do it.

Have a good one!

The movie is definatly a cheap movie theatre one :  or it could be we were both recovering from
the Relay .  Kathy slept thru some of it.

The procedure is 7:30 am :  I'll call when I'm thru.  I may even post here when I get home.

Yeah I know :  I'm a Maryland board ADDICT!

I had to laugh over B's comment that they need a vacation too!.  Did you remind
him of the week in OC in July?

Mom and Dad saw an airshow at the beach yesterday :  they were really impressed

with the precision of the pilots.

Have a good one.

I told B about July, and he said, "Well, that's YOUR vacation, too!" and when I told him that that week, although fun, isn't REALLY much of a vacation for me with the laundry, cooking, etc., and he said, "But you get to spend time with us!"  I couldn't really argue with that! LOL!!!!  And he had the biggest grin on his face when he said it!  Kind of like the grin he got when I had to ask him to stand on the counter and get something out of the closet for me!  Or the way his eyes lit up when Dad said he bought a new chainsaw!  God help us this summer!!  LOL!!!

LOL  I would suggest saying something like :  "this is a grown up vacation with my friends"
but he would come back with " can I take a friend on vacation?"  then you would end
up with 4 kids instead of two :  double laundry LOL

Good Morning Everyone,

Wow! what a weekend! Mine too was jam packed. First there was the Relay for Life overnight Friday. Then I met my High School Friends Saturday night to hang out and play Trivial Pursuit. I did not get home until 1AM. Then yesterday, I went kayaking (The rental was a Christmas present from one of my friends.) It was a glorious day.

I am glad K enjoyed her kayak trip. I too wound up taking an unscheduled dip. I am not sure how it happened. It happened so quick. It might have been a combination of the wind, wakes caused by power boats, and my talking and not paying attention. My friends towed me to shore so that I could get back in. There was no harm done and I still had a fabulous time.

I should have been exhausted last night. However, I did not fall asleep until 2:30AM or so. Needless to say, I had trouble getting up this AM.

Today, I am grateful for.....

1 - The experience of the Relay for Life on so many levels. The ability to honor those who have survived this disease. The ability to honor those who have lost the battle against this disease. The ability to do something constructive to help. The realization of how lucky I personally am with my overall health. And the joy of being able to do something that would not have been possible a couple of years ago with other friends who understand this like no others as they felt it too.

2 - For a full weekend - This is the busiest I have been in a long time on the weekend. With everything that has been going on in my life lately, it was actually invigorating and a great mood lifter to be so busy in so many fun ways. It did not cost me a lot of money to do it and I got to spend time with so many of my friends.

3 - For the start of a new week with hope and optimism for the future.

Have a super day!

Debbie
