Surgery scheduled
Congrats on the date. I just found out that I will have to fight my insurance company for my surgery to be paid for. My HR department is going to try to get it covered in the next negoitation which is not until at least February of 2010. According to my doctors I can't really wait that long. Between my knees, possible Syndrom X diagnosis, and other issues.
Will send you hugs and be thinking about you next friday. I am sure you will do fine.

I would just be careful with how much information that I provided to my employer since they are probably the ones that want the exclusion. In MD it is a law that insurance companies cannot exclude weight loss surgery. So the exclusion was probably written in by the employer.

When we believe, all things are possible!
I know about the law in MD that you speak of.
My policy is written in California and I am told that they are subject to California law ( United health Care) I do have Case law to back up the fact that the state where the insured lives can not be negated Ie ignored, and a California Code of Regulation that states that Morbid obesity must be treated if it is not being done for cosmetic reasons only.
Also there are many here that are interested in having the wls as an optin and we are going to let our employer know about the benefits to them as well the employees.
Thank you for your comments and advise.
