Bowie/Crofton area...help with doctors

Hello All,

I'm new to the Bowie area, and I'm currently looking for a doctor that approves WLS. I went through this process in 2006, lost some weight, waiting on my approval letter, and ended up getting pregnant! I was upset at first, but have an awesome little boy, so it was worth it!.

Now, its been 2.5 years, and I'm ready to start again. The problem I had before was my PCP got me interested in the surgery, and once I got all the paper I was required to get.....see psychiatrist, see bariatric surgeon, see nutritionist....and then my PCP, felt like if I drank water I would lose all the weight I needed....yeah right.

So as you can see, I'm not going back to her. I need to find a doctor that is Pro WLS....can anyone help me? I have Blue Cross Blue Shield-Federal....so I know my insurance covers it....I just need to find a doctor

There are many many surgeons out there who are great but you can just make your appointment directly with them.

i would visit all the hospitals in the baltmore area to find the right one. mine was awesome but the other ones are as well.

You might want to pull up your insurance list of WLS surgerns and work back from there.  I live in Crofton and started with Hopkins and changed to Roe.  Wanted alot of experience.
