Thanks, Hojo!  I think I aged about 10 years last night.  SIGH.

I'm blah myself - just been that kind of week!!

I hope Lizzie really enjoys herself this weekend - that child has worked SOOOO hard and deserves to have a blast and celelbrate!

I will think good thoughts and keep your MIL in my prayers!!!

Hugs,

Tia

OMG, about your mother - in - law.  My prayers are with you and her and your family.  Is she in treatment?  Is there anything that I can do?  and is she local?

OMG (again) - I know how it feels when they say cancer to you and I so feel her pain!!!

I have never been so happy that it's a Thursday until today - I am dragging butt

I may only be able to make it to the Relay tomorrow night for one lap - I am dangerously out of energy and barely surviving on coffee.  And.....I quit the cigarettes yesterday afternoon, and am not planning on buying another pack just to make it through the days.  Wrong idea.

Things I'm grateful for:

I had a great time working at JCP last night - I was working in the Catalog department - I have to do two catalog orders in order to get "catalog certified" before they'll let me back out on the floor.  I managed to get one last night, so I think I'll be back in the Catalog department tonight.

My quitting smoking isn't as bad as it seems.  Just as long as I keep saying to myself B*tch - you dont' need cigarrettes!  I cower and say Yes Mastah!  and keep going about my business

Doc's office called the other day to leave a cryptic message about abnormal blood work.  Who in the heck wants to leave the word abnormal on the voice mail?  Made me think I had cancer!  Well, they finally called back.  I'm just high on the liver and cholesterol.  But I was high last March, so I'm bringing those lab results with me to see if they improved since March 2008.

We have fatty liver in my mom's side - and I'm thinking it's probably that so I'm saying Hakuna Matata!  No Worries!  Nothing I can't handle!

O M G!!  That scooting picture is JUST what I needed!!!  How did you know??? LOL!!!!!

B*TCH, YOU DON'T NEED CIGARETTES!!!  YOU CAN DO THIS!!!  CHICKS RULE!!!

Yeah, real nice, abnormal via voice mail!  I don't THINK so.  Glad it was JUST that.  I had it, too, but mine's improved.

Oooooh, so I can call the Catalog Department and order stuff????

Try not to wear yourself out!  I know you need the money, but WE need our Candy in (relatively) one piece!!

Hugs,

Tia

Yeah you could but they prefer warm bodies especially when it comes to payments!  LOL!  I told my supe that I'd bribe someone to come in at 6:00 tonight and place an order for a catalog item, just so that I could go upstairs, but then as I was driving home at 10:30 last night, I got to thinking - Catalog wasn't too too bad.  It wasn't physical - but I do need to get back on the floor and I think that I can't ring up sales unless I'm catty-certified.  So they may be keeping me off the floor just in case, or maybe, just maybe, I'm making others look bad when I exhibit Asperger's syndrome in the clearance racks?

Sounds like a kid nightmare to me!  Bad Rocks!!! :)  I once came home when we lived in Maryland to find a kid bleeding from his eye - his friends were so upset 911 was having trouble getting enough info to send help - Long story short, I ended up in the ambulance with the neighbor kid to Johns Hopkins while trying to locate his mother - and explain to anyone that would listen that I DID NOT know his middle name nor his social security number, etc.  It was a nightmare!!  He "said" at the time he poked himself with a stick but we later found out it was someone else (adult) who threw a rock to get the kids out of his yard...  Not pretty at all!!  Thank goodness he was fine and although the eye had to be covered for about a month, he has eventually regained his vision in it - his mom may never regain the sanity she lost that night!  She left home to run to pick up her older son at work 3 miles away... They were 14 and 19 at the time!  Should have been safe...

Today's grateful post...

1.  That today is my last day at wor****il Tuesday.
2.  That my cousin Casey is at my Grandma's already - no backing out now for fear of what someone will say over her broken engagement!
3.  That the sun isn't out!  My eyes HURT and I don't know why, so I did NOT want to put my contacts in - if the sun was out, I would have to for sunglasses....

I am off... trying to get Lee out the door - it is weigh in time with Dr. A at 3:30...

Hi Ang!!  Bad rocks is right!!!  And I JUST got done saying that I feel extra bad when something happens when KB are in my care!!!!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family.  Tell Casey to hold her head high - she has nothing for which to be ashamed!!!  Poor thing.

I know this sounds crazy, but since you're losing weight, maybe your contacts aren't "fitting" as tightly as they should.  I remember my glasses became REALLY loose, so it ALMOST makes sense!  When's the last time you had an eye exam?  If you wear disposables, maybe you just had them in for too long?  Just be careful, okay?

Hugs,

Tia

Thanks Tia...

I had an exam about 2 weeks before surgery, but my EYE iteself doesn't hurt, it is my eye lid?  Right at the top of the eyeball - at least I think it is the eye lid... since I have been refusing to rub them today it feels better... hoping just a break from the contacts helps!  They are not disposable - I wear hard lenses...

Wow - There is a lot going on today! Hoping for improvements for all today!

P.S. Tia - you did not say how the kayaking went. Did K have a good time?

Today, I am grateful for .....

1 - My network - Some things are starting to happen on the job front and this is coming from my connections with folks (and friends) I have worked with before. I had a very good call with the HR person from this one company (I happened to have worked with him 2 jobs ago). There are several people at this company that I know from my early career days. I will be meeting with folks from several different departments next week. I am also expecting a call back from an ad I responded to online last week. I passed the phone screen earlier this week.

2 - Getting stuff done - One of my projects while I have this time is to go through things I have been keeping in storage. When I moved over 8 years ago, I thought this stuff was so important. Since then, I have rarely touched this stuff. This is definitely a sign that I do not need all of this. Some of it is sentimental or things I am holding for other family members. Anyway, I have brought 2 full car loads home this week and gone through it. Some things are going into the trash or to Goodwill. I have also "rediscovered" some things I forgot about. I found baby clothes that were my brothers when he was a baby (about 48 years old). My mother had saved them, so I continued to do so. I have favorite toys from when my nephson was growing up. I found some of my craft supplies, jigsaw puzzles, and games. I am actually looking forward to the "discoveries" yet to come!

3 - I am really getting excited about the Relay tomorrow. I am busy assembling stuff for the theme laps. I also retrieved my Halloween tubs from storage. I have a number of things there that I can use for some of the laps.

Have a super day! I am praying for calm weather from 7 to 9 tonight so that i can get the pool classes in!
