3 THINGS FOR THURSDAY!

YAY!!!  Took it long enough!!  I, for one, am VERY happy to see this week come to a close.  PHEW!  The beach weekend can't get here quick enough!

Today, I'm grateful for:

1.  That although there was a LOT of blood, B didn't require stitches after K threw a rock and hit him in the head!!!!  O M F G!!!  We were at the snowball stand, buying treats for the softball team when B came over to me crying that K had thrown a rock and hit him in the head.  I thought maybe a bump, but when I pulled him to me and kind of patted his head, my hand was covered in blood!!!  He didn't see it on my hand, but HE touched it and started screaming like a banshee!!!  Fortunately, some of the other mothers and I got it cleaned off enough to look at it, and it was "just" a surface cut!  No stitches, but we kept ice on it for a while.  This a.m., he said it doesn't hurt at all.  Long story short, they were "playing!"  B tossed a rock at K first, she threw it back underhanded (but she HAD to have thrown it hard) and WHACK!!!  I was so pissed at her I had to tell her to stay away from me for a few minutes.  Of course, she was freaked out to know there was blood, and she was VERY sorry, crying and crying harder at the thought of Daddy killing her when he found out (he was still at work).  I got to Daddy first and kind of calmed him down, or so I thought, so he only MODERATELY yelled! (rolling eyes)  MOTY was there, and of course, thus ensued probably the biggest fight I've seen them have since their divorce.  And there were no holds barred verbally!!  Wow!  It ALL came out, which I guess was good, in a way.  It needed to be said, but perhaps not right then.  So everything was kind of resolved, B's alive, K's alive, the adults are dead tired and I'm thanking my lucky stars again that I don't have kids of my own!!!

2.  Today's my Friday.  Say no more.

3.  That the storms weren't TOO bad last night.  I don't think Happy can take much more, although they're calling for storms again tonight.

I hope everyone has a great day.  Wake me at 4, 'kay?

oh head wounds always bleed more than they need to.   the head, scalp and face are VERY vascular and that's why they look worse than they are.  Glad B is ok

the storm was not too bad..

last night we took GC out to celebrate her 17th birthday.  we went to the Japanese Steakhouse and  brian and I marvelled how much we won't be eating after surgery.  I even was able to stop when full and have enough for lunch today!

so glad it's almost friday.  I'm trying to work over now so I have enough to cover 16 hours for my beach weekend!  I am getting SO EXCITED.

my things:

1. DVD player on the computer at work... (I've got Bye Bye Birdie playing)
2. a good dog trainer who can make me see that adopting a 5 month old mastiff newf mix with aggressive seizures is not really as humane as having him put down... (sob)
3. that my daughter is still young enough to want to spend the day on the school bus with her daddy.
4. that' i'm going to try to swim tonite!!!!!!!

Fortunately, or unfortunately, I hadn't been exposed to a head wound in a long time!!!  LOTS of blood.  Yeah, he's okay, in fact, when I said, "Come on, we're going home," his response was, "I'm hungry!"  LOL!!!

Happy Bday to GC!!!  Not only won't you be eating much after surgery, it'll probably be a good while before it's "safe" enough for you to attempt steak.  Unfortunately, while it's very high in protein, it's NOT pouch-friendly for most newly post-ops.  But good for you for listening to your stomach!!!  That's part of the battle!!

So, I'm a little blurry this a.m., but you were gonna adopt another doggie?  I applaud you for that (I think you're crazy doing it in a rowhome, but whatever), but kudos to the dog trainer for ultimately seeing what's best for the doggie.

Have a great day!

T

((( Tia )))

Happy end of your week !!  Wow .. that sounds like when my brother hit my sister in the head with a hockey stick (or vice versa) when they were quite young, and neither one of them played hockey .. go figure.

Let's see ...

1) 3 little love bundles of fur .. Charlotte, Danbury & Daytona .. they are developing personalities and providing endless hours of entertainment and joy.   Not sure they quite get the name thing yet ..  they may thing they are NO, Bad Kitty and Hey You !!!   Daytona is pretty laid back, the other two hit the floor and come running when we open the door to the kitchen, Daytona kinda hangs back, but the last couple of days I've work a long skirt and that has gotten his attention .. he runs around my feet batting at the hem .. lmao .. I just have to be careful I don't stomp on him.

2) I am adjusting to the braces .. there's no real pain in my teeth .. just a rub on my lower lip that I am blobbing wax on the bracket to sooth .. I still can't eat solids because my jaws don't come together.   I called about that yesterday and they assured me that it is normal and  within a week I will see a dramatic shift and I will be able to chew .. in the meantime .. protein shakes are just NOT cutting it !!!  I've had cream of crab soup and cream of potato soup and today I brought chicken noodle .. we will see how I do at getting the noodles down .. lol

3) The weekend is rapidly approaching and we have some fun stuff planned .. an 80th birthday party for a former co-worker of Mr Mo's and college graduation party for Jeff & Wendy's oldest son.   I should be a barrel of laughs with the tinsel teeth!!!

Ok, time to get to it here .. have a wonderful day .. talk to you soon

Hugs & smoochies,
Mo

Comparison is the thief of joy!

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished.   Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago.   I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits!   Wherever you are in your journey  ... It's ALL good!!!

((( Moie )))

Yeah, not a whole lot of fun.  Lots of dramatics last night - enough to last me a good while!!

Um, as I said to Nessa, I'm a little blurry - what happened to Charlotte, Bristol and Dover?  They sound soooooooooooooooo sweet - you know the boys are up there just shaking their heads!!

Remember for the bday party this weekend, "Old mailmen never die, they just lose their zip!"  Congrats to Wendy's son and tell her she doesn't look old enough to have a son graduating!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!  I'm off tomorrow, celebrating the last day of school with KB!

Hugs,

T

Well, Charlotte stayed Charlotte, but the other names were sort of 'working' names, we ended up with Danbury (for the old Danbury Racearena at the Danbury State Fairgrounds in CT .. where we both saw our first Stock Car race) and Daytona cause we want to go there! (and Daytona is BIG and our Daytona is a little fat belly).

OMG, you have that right on the ZIP .. but not quite sure this one has lost it YET !!!  LMAO ..   I am sure Wendy will appreciate the compliment ..

Mo......
Both my daughters have braces. And they both had teh same complaint with chewing......it does get better within a week or so! Also, be prepared.....if you have to get your teeth "chained" you will have to eat soft foods for a few days too! They say it is alot of pressure & hurts. My oldest had hers done about 6 months ago & was in PAIN.....the youngest laughed........two weeks ago the youngest had to have hers chained & was crying! I told her she shouldnt have laughed at her sister!!!! KARMA!!!!!!
Just thought I would share that!
Good luck!

Thanks Heather!   I haven't had too much discomfort (YET !!!).   The first day I equated it to how your mouth/gums feel afteer an 'agressive' teeth cleaning.   I did take my prescription pain killer on Monday night 'just in case' and took a couple last night again as well.  I've taken Tylenol extra strength a few times here in the office and that keeps the 'achey' part at bay.   I've got one bracket that is digging into my lower lip where the tooth protrudes and I need to keep that 'waxed'.

I am not so sure what the 'chained' part means but I'd rather not find out .. lol .. I do have elastics (just one on each side) that are a challenge to get in but I am learning.

This is just a wild experience at 59 y/o to have braces .. something I should have done YEARS ago .. lol

I am glad B is ok.....and I am also glad that K is ok......sounds like it was pretty intense. But all is well now.
I am pretty blah today......am not sure why tho.
I have to start cooking & preparing for Lizzie's graduation party this weekend.....yuck, that means food shopping!

So....today I am grateful for :

1} we had no storms last night

2} my mother in law, who was just recently diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer, isnt letting that hold her back. She is still living life & you would never know she is sick.

3} family & friends.....what else can I say?

Have a great day all!
