Sisterhood of the Shrinking Pants!!!

Good Morning Sisterhood!!!!

It's almost here! I am so excited and looking forward to Friday's big event.  We've worked really hard to get the financial support the ACS needs and I think we've done a phenominal job!!

The event begins on Friday at 4:30.  What time are you able to get there and will you be staying for the entire event?

Have you gone to the website and read about the different laps and if so, do you have any particular ones you want to participate in?  I thought it would be great to do the YMCA/Village People.  I purchased a fake construction hat and will probably do the flannel work shirt and work boots.  Anyone else??

I thought the pirate one would be cute too, as well as the funky tie, and colorful socks.  Thrift stores are great for getting props!

Candy has suggested we all arrive in purple as our team color.  I thought that was a lovely idea.  Does anyone have any ideas for decorating our "camp site"?

Also, does anyone have a 10x10 canopy style tent? If not, I may have to go and purchase one on Friday.

What else on the website for the Relay for Life interests you?

Since this is a fundraising event, feel free to invite your friends and family to come out and support you.  There will be lots of opportunities to donate to the RLF through different fundraising... be prepared.

I'm bringing a sleeping bag and pillow, a chair and a card table, maybe even a few games like Yahtzee and such to keep us occupied when we need a break from walking.  If there are any coffee drinkers, maybe I'll send out for a box of coffee from DD at midnight?  I'm contemplating types of snacks that would be good bring.

What are your bringing?

I am scheduled to work that night until they close - last Saturday I didn't get out of there until 11:30 - so figure I'll be there roughly midnight Friday- I've been sore each time I've worked at JCP, so I may muster a couple laps and then say I've got to go because I'll have to work again from 5 to close on Saturday.  If anyone is missing anything, you could buzz me and let me know or I'll call and find out if I need to bring anything - such as that box from DD?

It's fun - so I think that I'm getting my time's worth as well!  Plus you can't beat the Associate Discount!

I have told myself, look at the clothes for a week before you buy them.  Needless to say, somehow I changed my mind during that time and haven't splurged in the store.

Any time you can spend with us will be a good time Candy.  Give us a call on your way and I'll let you know if we need anything. Thanks for the offer.

~hugs~

Just wanted to wish you all a very good event.  Here's praying that there is no rain, not too much sun or heat for the event.  Fill us in on all the details when you get back!

Thanks Lisa!  If it is raining then the event will be moved indoors. I'm hoping that doesn't happen. A lot of people indoors on a rainy night sounds like high humidity... UGH!

I'm sure we'll tell you all about it on Monday after we recover! LoL

Hi Ren,

I'm taking the day off on Friday to rest up for that night.  I can be there by 4:00, unless you need me to be there sooner, and I plan on staying for the whole event.

I have a construction hat that I have to use at some of the Navy shipyards.  I think that's the only thing I have for the YMCA lap.  I liked the colorful socks and the pink lap.  I'm drawing a blank on the other ones and the website is down right now.  I'll have to check again later, unless you can post the different spirit laps.

I can wear a purple shirt...my favorite color.

What kinds of things would you want to decorate?

I'm planning to bring a camp chair (I have a couple of others that people can use) and blanket.  I can bring a cooler with ice.  I'll be bringing drinks and snacks for myself but if we want to contribute to the group, let me know what kinds of things you are thinking of and we'll go from there!
