MORE OT: HAVE I LOST MY MIND?!

OMG!  WHAT was I thinking?  After my brother and I talked about it, I told K's best friend's mother that K could participate in a Relay for Life event at Gunpowder this weekend.

KAYAKING!!!  OMG!!!!  I just thought it would be a cool experience for K, and of course, everyone will be wearing the appropriate safety equipment and travelling supervised in a group, but I am freaking out!  What if something happens to my baby????  She can swim, and she'll be in a two-person kayak with her BFF, and it's NOT the Colorado River, but STILL..........!!!

How, in the name of God, do parents do it?

Tia, B-R-E-A-T-H-E!!!!!!  I promise, she will be fine.  There is no high white water in Gunpowder,. I'm sure there will be a ton of people on the river, and the relay would be held in a limited length.  Just so you know, it takes a lot to capsize a kayak on a river like Gunpowder.  She will have a lot of fun!

Thanks, Terri.  I'm nuts, I know!!  I DO think it'll be a blast for her!  I want them to be able to experience EVERYTHING they're able to in life, but I just want the rope to hold extra tight to me, ya know?

Hugs,

T

LoL! You poor thing! Now you can imagine what your own mom felt each time you crossed the street without holding her hand... even at the age of 13 and older!!

K will be fine. There are others around and she is in good hands.   She'll be glowing with excitement after she has accomplished this.  Good for her, and good for you and her dad for allowing her to experience all that life has to offer. She will thank you for it even later in her life.  The two of you (and your parents) are molding wonderful, confident and loved adults.

Good for you and your brother.

.... and Tia..............

BREATHE!~!!!!!!!

Ren
