I'm not eating "bad" today, because . . .
. . . I deserve to be happy and I feel terrible when I eat thing that are just not good for me.
So here's my reminder for the day. What's yours?
This stems from having food "stuck" last night. Even at 1 year out, it can still happen. I had a black angus burger and it just sat there. I know I should have only had part of the burger and probably would have been fine if I had stopped with half, but still in my mind, I need to empty my plate. (Stems from those starving children in Africa) So I did clean my plate and then about 20 minute later it just sat there, in my chest and wouldn't move! Hell for the next few hours!!!

When we believe, all things are possible!
Great idea!!! I'm gonna have to think on this one for me, though.
I feel your pain with the stuck food. 1 year or 4 years post-op, it can STILL happen, and it's STILL not pleasant!!! I have a problem with burgers because the ground beef is so compacted - I don't care how moist, etc.
Painful lesson reinforced, huh?
Hugs!

You DO deserve to be happy! I agree when I eat things I shouldn't or too much I always feel guilty. Knowing ahead of time that I'll feel guilt should be enough to persuade me to eat right.
I had a nice dinner the other night.... burger, cucumber salad, baked beans and corn-off-the-cob. After a few bites of burger... I looked at my plate and exclaimed... "I've got a buffet!! I can eat a little of this and a little of that, but don't have to eat the whole buffet!"
Maybe that will work for you instead of being a member of the Clean Plate Club you can join the Buffet Club?
Here's to staying true to ourselves today!
OH!.... and I'm not eating "bad" today, because... I enjoy watching the scale move in my favor!
~hugs~

Actually Ren - I am a Clean Plate Club member - and I've learned this. So - what I do is not pile on my plate. One cooking spoon worth for two items.
Last night, I fixed New York Strips - and had a crockpot of black eye peas. I scooped one cooking spoon of the peas on my plate, and cut my new York strip in half, before I put it on the plate.
At home, I have the little 5 or 6" paper plates, those are going to be my dinner plates from now on. :)
