Is there a support group in Southern Maryland?  I am post-op RNY on 5/20 and was wondering if there was a group in my neck of the woods.  Thanks.

Welcome to the Maryland Board and the wonderful world of wls!!  I'm sure once she sees this, Sassy Steph, who lives in Southern Maryland, will respond with the info she has.

If she doesn't, I'll search some old posts and see what I can find.

Unfortunately, I do not know the answer to your question.  I just wanted to stop and say that we share an anniversary.  Only I'm one year older!!!

Here is what I have.

Gastric Bypass Mutual Support Group

Location: 22188 Three Notch Rd, Lexington Park, MD, Next to the Museum
Date: 4/22/2009
Time: 6 PM
Duration: 01:30
The Gastric Bypass Mutual Support Group discusses issues such as emotional eating and eating and exercise habit building. The group has experience from many different sources as well as the 3 main Bariatric Centers of Excellence in the D.C./Baltimore area. Attending a support group is important because you will have a lot of questions that you need answered before you have the surgery and afterwards that only patients can answer. We share celebrations as well as problem areas as we take this journey together. Family members/friends are welcome to learn how to better support.

The mutual support group meets every Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:30.

Please call Dr. Janet Gill, PhD EE, 301-994-3033.
