3 THINGS FOR MONDAY!
My goodness, I can't believe it's Monday already!! Sheesh!! I had such a crazy busy weekend, it was just NON-STOP. I remember taking my makeup off on Saturday night, but don't remember going to bed. And NO, there was NO alcohol involved!!! LOL!!! On Saturday, B and I went out shopping for his present for K's bday. He picked out (with help from me) a sketchbook that K had eyed up, a HUGE pack of Sharpies (those things are $$!), and a stuffed tiger (she collects them). Of course, I paid for it all, but it was "from" him!!! LOL!!! And, of course, he HAD to have something, so he got a penguin figurine and his own Sharpie!! LOL!!! Then B and I went to Target for bday cards and gift bags, we went to lunch and I took him home, picked up K, took her clothes shopping (AGAIN!), then we stopped for snowballs and picked B up and all went home to their house. Once I was done with them for the day, I had to go to the grocery store and went home and made K's ice cream cake and wrapped presents.
On Sunday, I was up at 5:30, typing, and then we had K's party until 4, after which we back to their house so she could unwrap OUR presents (she loved everything). Mom, Dad and I got her a beautiful blue topaz and diamond pendant to celebrate her 13th - she picked it out - my girl has an eye for the expensive!! Once we got home, I had to finish up a tape and I was in bed at 8 p.m., probably sound asleep at 8:03!! I even missed the season opener of "Army Wives," but thank God, it comes on again tonight at 9. I've never missed an episode of that and have been anxiously awaiting the third season!!
This week promises to be equally crazy!!! And don't forget the Dave & Buster's get together on Sunday the 14th!
Today, I'm grateful for:
1. DD Iced Tea - This a.m. seemed like an iced tea morning, I don't know why!! DD's is really good and MUCH cheaper than SB!!
2. That I was able to be satisfied with just a small piece of bday cake and even smaller piece of ice cream cake. I know my sugar limits and it's SO not worth getting sick!!
3. That despite MOST of K's friends not showing up yesterday, even after RSVP'ing that they'd be there, she still seemed to have a good time skating with the 3 friends who showed up and her brother. I was SO pissed - 11 kids total said they'd be there and only 3 showed up? How screwed up is THAT? Of course, I blame the parents!! W T F is WRONG with people? K tried not to let it bother her, but you could see that it did. Of course, she's not quite brave enough, but I told her that when she goes to school today, she should, if anyone apologizes to her for not coming to her party, say, "O M G!! You weren't there? I had SUCH a blast that I guess I didn't even realize it!" But she won't. I hate to be that way and I don't want to raise her to be a ***** but this was just inexcusable in my eyes. I could see her eyes well up with tears at the end of the day, and I told her next year, if she wants, we'll just go to NYC for the day. But this was supposed to be a special day, you know? Her one friend couldn't come unless she brought her 9 year old brother - again, W T F, and then they ended up not coming anyway. And, even though it's not supposed to be about gifts, one kid shows up with nothing, not even a card!! WHAT is wrong with parents today? I would NEVER think of sending KB off to a party without a gift!!! People are just screwed up!! Okay, rant over!!!!
Have a great day!!
Tia
Going to be a quick one today : I am leaving at 10:30 for a preop Dr appt which will lead to different offices for bloodwork and chest X Ray - but its all a means to an end I've been waiting for forever so I am going to grin and bear it all,
T- Sorry about the rude people who are the parents of K's friends -- that is totally inexcusable
to RSVP they will be there and then not show up.
1. Pre Op Dr appt today
2. Netflix : gotta love that they mail them to you and no running to the video store
3 for the good day I spent with Mom Saturday : She was surprised I agreed to go and happy
that I went with her
Have a great day all
Good luck today!! I know you'll be happy to see this all come to an end!! And I hope it does!! It works for about 80% of women, so the odds are in your favor!!!!
Hmmm.........Netflix would probably be a waste for me, since I'm usually asleep as soon as I hit, "Play!"
There's a chick flick out I've been wanting to see - maybe we can snag Kathy on Saturday night. For the life of me, I can't remember the title!!! LOL!!!!
Hugs,
T
2. One day closer to the weekend..
3. The social butterfly I am gonna be this weekend coming...parties Fri and Sat and then Dave and Buster's on Sun.:o)
Tia, tell your darling niece as my Capri would say that's her friends lost...They should consider it a privilege to be graced with her presence and to be invited to her party..
Have a good day everybody.:o)
I can't wait to see you on Sunday!!!
Hugs,
T
Today is a new day. I am working on a new approach to each day in the hopes that I can shake this funk I have been in. So far I got up at a normal work-week hour, I went for a walk outside for an hour, came back, ate breakfast, showered and dressed and am now taking care of chores and follow-ups on the job hunt.
T - I am so sorry that these thoughtless individuals hurt K on her special day. And there is no telling her right now how inconsequential these people will be to her later in life. Still I hope she can bask in the warmth and love from her friends and family who were there to celebrate her special day!
Today, I am grateful for....
1 - Getting off on a good start to me day. Sometimes the smallest things can mean the most.
2 - Looking forward to the Relay on Friday.
3 - Getting a chance to speak (not just email) my family in Indiana yesterday. My cousin is like a sister to me and my Aunt is like a second Mom. Their love and support mean so much and gives me strength.
Have a super day!
Debbie
Hi Debbie!!!
I'm glad you're trying to stay focused - that'll make it easier to stay in a routine once you get a fantastic new job! And as far as family - well, you know how important that is to me, especially in tough times.
I've always told K that it's better to have 5 great friends than 15 not so great. She remembers that, but I'm not sure it makes her feel better right now!
I'm excited to hear about the Relay results!
Have a great day!
