I know what everyone said about upping your protein, but honestly, that wasn't the case for me. In fact, when I spoke at DVR's info sessions to pre-ops, they would ask about hair loss, and Dr. Mo always said it was lack of protein, but I nicely disagreed. I was the MOST compliant patient you could ever find - I got in more than enough protein, and always did it first and foremost, and I STILL lost hair.
I'm not sure that there IS a reason for it, but I'm still not convinced it's the lack of protein.
It WILL grow back! I know it's frustrating in the interim, but just hang in there!

I swear that it's partly the anesthesia to blame as well as the hormone fluctuations from the rapid weight loss. At 4 months out from both of my c-sections and 4 months out from my wls I lost hair. The only relationship between the two surgeries are the meds and the hormones (for me). Thank God it mostly grows back! I just stopped losing hair after two months and now with having surgery on Thursday I guess in another 4 months I'll be shedding again. I hope my scalp recovers from this hair loss by then! Otherwise I'm gonna start looking like Dad! btw, his hair is growing back......it's WHITE!
