Nessa.....
You seem so strong, smart, & determined......dont let this bring you down! I have been fighting for this surgery for OVER 2 years, and believe me there have been MANY disappointments & factors to discourage me.....but I learned from people here, not to give up & keep fighting for what I wanted. Your emotions are normal.....I would feel this way if I were in your shoes.....just dont let those emotions run wild, and detere you. Its just like everything else in life.....if you fall, get up & start again. We all knew that this journey would be rough, but we all decided to do it, despite the struggles.......girl, you can do it!!!!!!!!!!
You can do this......You are strong, and I have faith in you......and as it looks from above posts, so does everyone here!

No Matter How I May Change, I Will Still Be ME!!!!

Nessa...can you go to another surgeon?  There are many who don't "require" you to lose anything pre-op.

GMTA Heather I was just going to suggest this.

Another question I have is has DVR come out and told you personally that he will not
do the surgury? - I know at one point I told him I did not want to wait 6 months and
I would self-pay -  he convinced me that it was better to wait and prepare myself
with the changes I would have to make.

But there may be another Dr out there who would go ahead and not make
you go thru the program DVR does.

You've had all the test done   - talk to DVR and see where he stands.

Nessa,

It really sucks when your body doesn't do what you want or need it to do. Don't give up though, this is important for you to do.

My worst fear was always of failure.

It held me back from trying new things... that way I couldn't fail.

I've gotten past that and grown into a new me by knowing that if I don't succeed the first time and life knocks me for a loop, get the f&$k up, brush off the dust off of my bruised ego and ass and try until I'm successful.

~Warm hugs to you~

I know you are heavily disappointed... but I also know you can do anything you set your mind to. Determination always wins.

I hope you find it in yourself to dust yourself off and persevere.  We are with you 100% of the way!  We'll even lend you a hand to help you up AND dust you off!

Nessa,

I am just a lurker and always on here reading what everyone has to say,  long before I joined OH and after I had surgery but after reading this I felt I had to comment because my heart goes out to you.  Please check with another doctor and dont give up.  My doctor did not require I drop weight before the surgery and I weighed more than you.  I did have VSG and I think you are looking at RNY but I don't think that would make a difference. Good luck and dont give up, having my surgery was the best thing I could of ever done.
