Ok, so I know that my hair is not the most important thing, but come on.  I am losing it by the very large handfulls!!   When will it stop??  I'll probably cut about 12-14 inches off when it stops falling out to make it look thicker, but I can't do much if  I'm bald.    Please help.

Some of the rny'rs have that problem.  My boss had the same thing happen - she suggested taking Biotin.

the biotin doesn't help the hair stop falling out, just makes what is still there grow faster.

you have to up your protein to 150 grams a day and it will stop. won't take more than a week.

((( JO )))

You're at about the right point in time post-op-wise.  I started losing my hair at about 4 months post-op, and it continued for about 3-4 months.  Keep in mind that I had very thin/fine hair to begin with.  I didn't lose what I would call a lot, but it was enough to be noticeable.

I knew it could happen up front, and I was bound and determined to not stress about it, because stress makes it worse.  It WILL stop and you will NOT be bald.

I assume you have a good stylist?  He/she should be able to give you some recommendations as to a cut/style that may help "hide" it.

In the meantime, check out the Pantene Restoratives line of shampoo/conditioner, and John Frieda's Root Awakening line.

A lot of people have used Biotin supplements (I didn't find that they helped), and there's always Nioxcin, which is pretty $.

Even bald, you'd be REALLY cute!!!!!

Hugs!

Thanks T. I don't actually have a stylist. I cut my own hair, except when I donated it to locks of love 2 yrs ago. I am trying to not blow dry it or use flat irons too much and only wa**** every third day.

I think I will try the John Freida Root stuff. Thanks for the help.  I know that nioxin is expensive, but does it help?

Don't know if the Nioxin works - I didn't want to spend the $!!!

BTW, mine has grown back in better than before, so hang in there!!!
