Does anyone know . . .
I am getting a facelift in 2 weeks! It is costing me about $15000 but that includes the hospital costs. I was thinking about a blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) for awhile. Insurance may cover this since it is medical. I had to have a Vision Field test and, after the procedure, I guess I have another one to see the improvement. If I've 'improved' enough they'll cover it.
The consultation is free. During it, the doctor said it's not really my lids, it's also my brow so I am getting a browlift as well (not covered). I said since the WLS, I have so much loose skin on my face, that I wanted a face and neck lift as well. ( I went to Disney with my 4-yr old niece and everyone thought I was her grandmother. Okay, I'm old enough (53) to be her grandmother but I'm not old enough to be my sister's mother!
)
I am now aiming for a lower body lift next January. This has gotten me motivated to start going back to the Y.
I say go for it!

Lisa, I have an HSA attached to a High-Deductible Aetna plan. I can pay for just about anything out of that plan. I don't know how other carriers work though. I do know that there is a vast difference between an HSA and an FSA, which is much more restrictive, and most require a "use it or lose it by December 31" clause. Perhaps you will receive a brochure at the meeting that will already answer your question. Also, many docs refer to corrective surgeries due to weight loss as "reconstructive" surgery; the terminology alone can make a difference.
I've been saving every penny I put in my HSA for surgery. I get a doc bill or an Rx and pay it on my own if at all possible. I'm going to need some serious lifting and tucking in 30 pounds!
