Feeling miserable today
Mellie - I really hope you do feel better soon! My port area was tender for weeks - it's the largest incision, and I think the port is stitched onto a muscle to keep it in place, so it's going to hurt. but the pain does eventually go away at the port site. I had a hiatial hernia that Dr. Singh fixed when he put in the lapband. The only time that site hurt was whenever I had to cough.
I think you are probably having GBAs, and hope that either the stone passes on its own, or that it stops irritating. The outpatient surgery is quick and over with. I'd just as soon go for it while I'm still aching from the other surgery - rather than getting better from the first one, only to go through round 2 of pain.

Mellie, I am sorry you are feeling bad. I think it might be your GB also. Your pain sounds really bad and I would get checked out. I would not play with it. It never hurts to be sure. My doc told me I had a large stone too. I had the option to have the GB removed or wait until it caused bad pain. I took the 1st option. He removed it laproscopic and I went the next day to see my mom in the hospital. Easiest surgery ever... Take care and call your doc please..

Well I would normally agree wtih you all but my pain is really located mostly in the back and feels very muscular. The last time my gallbladder attacked it was right under my breast and was sharp and stabbing. I did take some liquid motrin and it seems to have eased the back pain off a little. Im also getting hungry now. I think I was just very winey this morning.
Mellie,
If you look up the symptoms of a gall bladder attack...what you are describing is listed. I wouldn't count it out and would call your surgeon ASAP. If it is a GB problem, if left unchecked, it can also lead to pancreatitis and that's nothing to mess with.
Good Luck and hope you get some relief,
Heather
