In the surgical fee or will I have to pay an insurance copay for those?

Mellie -

I would say it depends on your insurance company.  I think the first three post-op visits were covered as routine surgical follow-up, but anything beyond that was subject to a co-pay.

That's who I have, too, and that's how it was for me.  But that was four years ago, so I'd say check with them - either the insurance company or the surgeon's insurance coordinator.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO through the state.  I've seen Dr. Singh 4 times without paying a copay.  I think it's the first year is covered under the surgery bill.  Wouldn't hurt to ask them about it.

I've scheduled to see Dr. Singh in Catonsville on June 1st - it is definitely time for an adjustment for me.  Might you be there by any chance?  SMILES

I did sign up for the Health Care Spending account this coming fiscal year - in case there would be any copays - plus I need to get some fresh glasses.  the SHPS does a great job of reimbursing through direct deposit.  I have yet to try to get them to pay for the Bariatric Advantage vitamins, but do plan to ask Dr. Singh or Arlene about what else can I take instead the BA stuff - because if anything, SHPS would probably pay only the cost of the normal OTC vitamins and not the full cost of the "premier" vitamins.

I'll let you know what I find out when I go to Dr. Singh's, ie how long for no copay, etc.

I am really close to buying those Guccis - they are soo adorable.  I have the page bookmarked and everything.

I don't know about those glasses though - they'll make me wall eyed like a fish in a bowl  LOL

Hey Candy,

I actually ended up calling my ins co and they said no copay for the first 90 days after surgery so Im good, woot!

Im going to see him in Fallston this Thursday so hopefully wont have to go back again for a bit after that. I dont like the Catonsville office, its too much of a labyrinth. I get lost everytime I go in there.

You know when I was at the preop class Cathy Carr told us we could use the chewable Centrum Silver and they are really good. I found them on sale at Giant for about 8 dollars, I dont know what their normal price is.

Hi - I have Carefirst BCBS and I pay the $25 copay when I see Dr. Brader except when I get a fill then I don't.  Weird but that is how it has been for over 3 years now.

You can't measure your achievements with someone else's yardstick!
