OT: Venting

Wow, I can't believe that I had surgery 2 weeks ago.  It's been a very emotional 2 weeks.  My birthday was sunday, and well it sucked.  Actually, my whole weekend sucked!  I've been depressed about not being able to find a job, and unemployment hasn't came through for me yet.  Also, I have had some issues with letting go of my old food habits.  I don't know why I thought this was going to be easy and that I wasn't going to have any issues with food.  I think if I wasn't depressed about my finances that I wouldn't be having food issues!  UGH!!!!  I feel like I'm going nuts at time.  Hunter desperately needs shoes and summer clothes, and I can't even do that.  Life completely sucks right now!!!  Sorry for venting on here, but I didn't really have anyone to talk to tonight.  I think I may need to see a counselor, maybe I will look into that tomorrow.

I'm so sorry about your problems.  This economy is so bad.  It's the worse time to look for a job.  :(  I hope unemployment comes through soon!

I like to look on the bright side.  If you can get past the food issues now (at one of your darkest times) when things get better for you, it will be a breeze.

Good luck!

On a postive note - you did something for YOU, to make YOU healthier physically.  Being healthy emotionally comes hand in hand with physically!

Food issues are a battle we have all been fighting our entire lives - unless they wire our mouths shut, they will be a continuing battle for more of us.  Don't be so hard on yourself.

Counseling is probably a good idea - we all need someone to talk to and get an outsiders perspective from...

Feel free to vent, we all need to let go sometimes, and often just putting it into works makes you feel better about the whole situation!

I have no advice but just wanted to give you ((((hugs)))).  Hope things change in your favor soon.

No wait, I do have advice. For the clothing. Check out www.freecycle.com in your area and post an ad asking for what  you need. Sometimes you would be surprised by the offers you will get. My teenage daughter's wardrobe is completely furnished that way and lots of time she gets really good things that are barely worn.

Hugs to you!  My birthday was a few weeks after surgery too and it did suck!  Food was always such a big part of it, especially birthday cake!  This definitely is NOT an easy journey but the first couple of months are certainly the worst.  As I hear it our hormones are stored in our fat cells and as we lose weight quickly they are released and wreak havoc on our emotions.  I'm still going through it to an extent.  If you can go to counseling and think it would help, that would be a great idea!

I was going to mention freecycle too but Mellie beat me to the punch!

Take care!!
Heather

I am sorry you are feeling bad. I hope a new job comes your way soon. I know its hard to let old habits go but I think with time and support you will do great. We are always here for you and we all need to let stuff go sometime..My neighbor told me she gets 80% of her kids clothes from freecycle and its great...

Thank you for all of the advice, wisdom and support.  It's been a very rough time, and I try to stay strong.  However, sometimes I can't and that's when I start to feel like a failure.  I know things will get better eventually, and that God will help me through this.  If anyone knows of any job openings please let me know.  I have tons of experience in office work, bookkeeping, medical, and law.

Hugs,

Becki

P.S. - Tia, I will give you a call after I get Hunter his lunch.

Becki,

Happy Birthday!!!  May 24th, what a great day that is!  I'm sorry though that it wasn't the best for you this year.  Aside from the job/financial situation I know that I can say with confidence that next year will be a much better year for you.  I wish for you to keep your eye on the prize and why you had the surgery.  You will learn that cake wasn't your friend, and after you ate it were you really all that impressed with it?  You sound like a smart, educated gal and I know that something will come along job wise.  Keep your sights broadened and don't forget that even if it's not exactly what you're looking for it may open doors to something that is.  Congrats on your surgery and just think about the future and how your weight loss will help you feel so much better both physically and emotionally.  You are NOT a failure, and stop right now thinking that.  Just think about what you had to do to get your surgery.  What a success you really are!!!
