I HAVE A SURGERY DATE!
Yeah, Bayview. They said I'd be home the same day (for fixing the slip - not sure how long if he ends up resectioning me, but I hear 1 day for VSG). Kylie will stay with Mom and we'll have to play it by ear with Lacie, but she needs to be near me for nursing if she can. I have to discuss meds with anesthesia regarding me nursing.
I agree, crab is already mushy! There's no way I'll get auce though so I will probably sneak from Floyd and just order soup.

Good lck with everything Heather. Most likely you will not be able to nurse Lacey for 24 to 48 hours. You need to have a supply of breast milk in the freezer for a day or 2.
Big hugs!
Big hugs!
I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

Hi Cira! I spoke to the lactation consultant at GBMC where I had Lacie and she said that I probably won't FEEL like nursing right after surgery, but there is no need to wait because the anesthesia will be long gone by the time I'm out of recovery and ready to nurse again. Now the pain meds post op will be another story. I'll have to talk to the doc about acceptable meds for pain that would be okay while I'm nursing. When I was banded I didn't use any pain meds outside of the pump right after surgery. I left in 23 hours after surgery with a script for liquid pain meds, but didn't bother filling it. Even with my 2 c-sections, the only pain meds other than the stuff they slip in you for pain as they send you out of the OR I asked for an Ibuprofen one time to take the edge off and that was back pain from those awful beds! lol I plan on pumping and freezing some milk the next few weeks though just for Lacie to have my milk during surgery and right after if I don't feel like nursing (because of a sore tummy) and I'll take the pump so I don't get engorged.
