Roasted chickpeas?  Spill, please!!!
OMG I love these

buy a big can of chickpeas (32 oz) or 2 smaller cans
get a big roasting pan (metal if you have it)
preheat the oven to about 450
drizzle a bit of olive oil (or canola) in the bottom of the pan (not a lot...
drain and rinse the chickpeas drain again...
dump in the pan  shake to coat and make ONE LAYER (this is important)
season to taste

suggestions:

garlic powder
onion powder
pepper
paprika

other suggestions
cumin
old bay
fajita seasonsings

do not salt till they are done cooking

cook for 20 minutes
stir them up and then SHAKE... they should still THUD

put them back
cook in 5 minute increments  taking them out and shaking them every time

when they RATTLE slightly (NOT THUD) they are done  (takes about 40 minutes total) bu****ch them closely they burn fast...
turn off the oven
salt them
put them back in the oven
let them cool as long as you can stand it....
they don't keep really really well....

but they are GREAT...

That carb monster will get up everytime.  Chips are my down fall.  Next time you get to Trader Joes, they do have soy chips.  Best wishes.

I have nothing to add as I chew my 2nd mini strawberry bagel.

I went to SuperFreshto get salad fixings and parmesan cheese for lasagna and came back with $26 worth of groceries and NO CHEESE! So I am eating a bagel. There.

I thought maybe my craziness will make you feel better :-)

I'm right with ya!!!  My downfall ~ crackers.  Who would have ever thought that saltines taste as good as they do!!!  It has gotten me in so much trouble and I have got to stop.  I have been good (only a few almond crisps in the evening) for the past few days.  But it is constantly on my mind.

I need help too!!!  Are you going to a support group meeting next week?  If not, there is one at BW Med Center on Wednesday from 7-8:30 on self destruction/self defeat.  Sounds like a pretty interesting topic to me.
