came home Thursday
Hi everyone. Sorry I didn't post sooner.
Everything went well last Tuesday. Getting the filter was a little nerve-wracking, but the surgery went well and he was able to do both the roux-en-y and remove my gall bladder laparoscopically. I spent the 1st night in ICU becuase my oxygen sat was low and they had trouble intubating me for surgery. I went to the regular floor Wednesday and came home Thursday evening. Since then I've just been tired and sore. It sure is hard getting in all of the fluids and protein shakes!! I'm also eating cream soup and sugar-free pudding.
I thought this was going to be far more painful and difficult, so I have been pleasantly surprised!
I go for my 1st follow-up with Dr Lin tomorrow. I am not scheduled to go back to wor****il June 3rd, but since I have a desk job, I am thinking I may go back after Memorial Day. We'll see how I feel. They said I could do half days, so I might do that since I am pretty tired.
Well, that's about all!

Erin -
Congrats and welcome to the loser's bench!!!! I'm so glad to hear everything went well. Just do what Dr. Lin advises, and it'll all come together.
Regardless of the surgeon, it seems as if the first six weeks or so are the hardest, so just hang in there.
Don't discount your body's need for rest - that's how you heal. If you feel up to working half days, that's great, but if not, take the time you need. You'll regret it if you don't!
Keep us updated on your many wow moments!
Hugs,
Tia
