figured i'd try it from trader joes... if you can do whole wheat pasta it's a fast easy lunch at work . nukes up in about 2 minutes

whole wheat penne pasta with meatballs in tomato sauce...

1 tray is 284 grams (not too big but big enough maybe too big for early out.... remember i am pre-op)

has 18 g of protein and only 7 g of sugar.

Hey Nessa:

After WLS, that is too much.  Even though I can not "do" pasta any more, that is about 10 ozs and  our little pouches shouldn't be able to hold that much.

Just posting in an effort to try to keep all of us post - ops on the right track.  God knows I need help!!!

It does appear to have a good amount of protein.
Thanks for the tip.

Just the mere words, "spaghetti and meatballs," are enough to send my pouch into spasms.

I don't know WHY I can do lasagna - a little, but I can, but plop the kind of meal you're describing in front of me, and my pouch wants no part of it!!

Post-op, give me the meatballs, add some ricotta and we're all happy!!!

Doesn't matter, won't work.

I know it's crazy.  I think with lasagna, it's the meat/cheese/sauce ratio going on that helps.

And post-op, it's much better for me to fill up first on the meatballs and/or cheese, because once I have even a bite of pasta, I'm done!!

It sounds good. I can usually do all of the meat from a frozen meal and maybe some of the starch - tortilla, pasta , rice, potatoes, whatever it comes with.

I am starting on frozen dinner's tomorrow... I bought two when we last went grocery shopping and carted them into work today (Today's lunch was leftovers from Friday's lunch with Nessa!!) but will try one tomorrow...

First up is a lean cuisine cabbage rolls and I will ignore the sides... Also bought a smart ones salisbury steak meal that again when I get to eating it, I will ignore the sides...  My thoughts are that one should be dinner and then my later afternoon snack in a day.

Any thoughts on what ones you all are eating that are WLS friendly for a 2 month post op?  Although I am eating almost any meats - did have issues with Ikea's meatballs on Monday... ugh!  Also haven't tried steak, call my chicken but I am not ready yet!

I like the Healthy Choice steamers. I still find sometimes that I can barely finish the meat, and have to let go of the sides. But, the frozen meals are so cheap sometimes, 4 for $10 and it saves me time on days I don't have leftovers from dinner.
