I'm curious to know that if you've had laproscopic surgery in the past, do they try to cut you in the same spots that you already have scars?

I had my gall bladder removed years ago, so I have those infamous 3 scars already. I also have a c-section scar. Just wondering if my stomach is going to look polka-dotted once I'm all done.

Hi sweetie you will get like 5 to 6 small scars altogether and no it will not be in the same spots this surgery is more in depth and they need to manuver the lap camera and arms better to get do this type of surgery.  It will look a litlle polka-dotta at first. lol  but it will be all worth it.
That scars are not big.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.
Those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind.

I have a friend who had hernia surgery once. It turned out her problems were more extensive than they originally thought and she came out of it with 9 small holes. She described it as a nine-hole golf course - LOL! Even if they have to crate new holes, it is so much better than the alternative. And they do fade. I don't even notice mine any more.

I had gall bladder surgery years ago too.  I think they cut new ones for my lapband, unless my gall bladder scars were faded.  You can always ask your doc  :)

And....if it's any consolation - whatever scars we might have had would most likely disappear eventually - or be removed altogether when we get fortunate enough to have excess skin removed.

I really don't know about your gall bladder, but if you only have three scars you will need another 2-3 for WLS.  As far as your c- section, as long as your scar is horizontal, your Dr. will be no where near that scar. Any good news with your insurance co??  I hope you get your approval soon, and then have a smooth, fast road to to your surgery, you have been put through the ringer! Good Luck, Keep us posted!  Leslie
