Update: Peer to Peer Review

I heard from Dr. S's office today and I guess after he thought about it further, he decided to do a peer to peer review with BCBS to try to get them to overturn my denial for VSG.

All that I know is the peer to peer review is when my doc talks to the insurance doc.  How do those things usually go? How long does that take?

I'm happy that Dr. S is fighting for me. :)  This could mean good things for me!

Lisa -

That's great news!!!!  I don't know anything about a peer to peer review, but maybe if you check on the Insurance Forum, someone over there might have some insight.

Crossing my fingers for you!  Keep us posted!

Peer to peer is exactly what it says - Dr. Singh talks with another doctor  -usually a surgeon well versed in baratric surgery - about why YOU need surgery and why the SLEEVE is best for you.  No paper pusher - mano y mano - doctor vs doctor.
Sounds promising!
