Marty update
I know you all are gone for the day but I figure Ill update anyway since I wont be around til late tomorrow....I just got home..im beat....
Poor Marty..he was soooo nervous..he passed out when they gave him the IV. We had to wait until his BP came up enough to have surgery, so we were delayed by an hour. Once they gave him the IV sedation he was good to go. Dr. Singh said he was a challenging case but he came through fine. When I left him he was very groggy with very minimal pain and being a bad patient. He was begging for water and asking them to unhook him so he could get up and walk the hallway. Anyway, thank you all for the well wishes...he did just fine.. the last thing he said to me was you BETTER NOT back out now.....lol

No Matter How I May Change, I Will Still Be ME!!!!
I'm so glad he's doing well. The passing out thing happens to a lot of people over an IV. The needle is a thicker gauge and it hurts a bit more. Was it his first? When someone doesn't know what to expect, it can be harder on them. I've had some that hurt like hell; like they were cutting into my hand with a rusty nail, and others I barely felt. There are some PHENOMENAL IV nurses out there!
Glad he's on the losing side. We'll be welcoming you to the bench this time next week!

Poor Marty!!! Poorer Mellie for having to witness all of that!! I'm glad he's on the bench with us now - by next week, he can help dust off YOUR spot!!!
Congrats, Marty! Both of you hang in there! Honestly, the first 6 weeks or so are the worst. After that, it's a piece of cake.....s/f cake!!
Hugs,
Tia

Mellie, sorry to hear about yours and Marty's experience. Glad he came through with flying colors. I wish you would get some rest and be ready for him to come home. I wish him a speedy recovery and great weight loss...Take care and tell him congratulations....

Although it was a trying day, I glad Marty came through OK. I am encouraged by the feistiness he is already displaying. Tomorrow will be the swallow test and THEN he will get his fluids. Hopefully that will lift his spirits. It is good that he wants to walk, because that is good for him too. Wednesday should be a better day.
Wishing you both all the best!
Debbie
P.S. Congratulations Marty!
