surgery tomorrow but my mom can't come

Well, my surgery is tomorrow and the plan was for my mom to come from Pittsburgh and stay with me for a week or two...but I just found out she may have torn her rotator cuff and probably won't be able to come. ;( My husband is off for a week and will be there to support me, but it just isn't the same as having your mom...

You are correct, nobody can replae your mom. I hope she gets better soon and hope you'll ake it through as well. come here and vent as often as you'd like

Best wishes for tomorrow.  Believe me when I got home, I wanted my husband to go back to work.  I was only out for a week and by the 2nd day home I was ready to go back to work.  Hope your surgery goes just as well.

Your mom will be with you in spirit and by phone I am sure!  Mine came down from Pittsburgh - and I was ready for her to home the day after we came home from the hospital!  I would have never TOLD her that, but they were all driving me crazy asking me if I needed anything.  And if I had to head to the bathroom or anywhere, it seemed they wanted to hold my hand to make sure I was okay!

It was a relief when everyone started doing their normal routines and my house emptied...

You will be fine, and hopefully she did NOT tear her rotor cuff and will be moving that arm in a few days!

Erin, So sorry about your mom not coming. I am sure she will be with you in spirit and she will be cheering you on.. We are here for you...Keep us updated.

After I got home from the hospital my husband was home with me for 2 days.  That was plenty!  I really didn't need too much help.  You'll be just fine!
