I can't get the protein drinks down
Ok Im about day 3 into fluids and I havent been doing the protein drinks, mostly because I havent felt like I needed them, even though I know better. So yesterday night I tried a chocolate one. Blech. Today im getting very sleepy and thinking maybe I better drink one so I try vanilla. omg. I cant stomach it. Im forcing it down but I think it might not stay down. Im drinking the walmart EAS carb control. Please tell me there is something better out there for after surgery.

Have you ordered any samples from any of the websites out there? Not sure I mentioned them to you, so forgive me if I'm repeating myself - www.vitalady.com, www.bariatriceating.com, www.unjury.com. They all sell samples in a variety of flavors.
I ONLY drink the ones you mentioned, and can tolerate them (barely) because they're not thick like some of the others. I can't stand a thick protein drink. I "hide" the vanilla in my coffee or tea - I use it just like creamer.
I wish I had more options for you, but maybe what I've given you will help. Remember, you can also add extracts and s/f syrups to disguise the flavors (somewhat).

Yes - you can actually mix the protein powder (both the flavored and unflavored) into anything. Once you get them, start out with a little bit, and add from there - don't put the whole scoop in at once because you might have gross lumps of protein powder.
Bariatric Eating also has a lot of protein shake recipes. Trust me, it all comes down to being creative and doing whatever you have to to get the protein and liquids in.

isn't EAS Carb Control too high in sugar?? try EAS Myoplex Lite. early out, i could only stomach the pre-made shakes. couldn't stomach the powder-made ones at all. it gets better, i promise. but you really need those shakes!
