Those darn banks

Bank of America allowed my hubby to take more money out of the atm then he had in there and then put a $35.00 overdraft fee on his account.

This makes me so angry!

I don't get it, either, Gail!!!!  Granted, people (including me) should keep a closer eye on what's in the bank account, but I still don't understand how you can take what you don't have!!!

Are you gonna call the bank?  If you haven't had any overdrafts, they may waive the fee if you're a customer in good standing.

Well, this is Bruce's account and he does not pay any bills out of it. I put a little spending money in there if he needs it. I probably should just get rid of that account but I don't like him having access to my account which pays all the bills.........

He said he needed $30 bucks but took $60 and there was only $52 in there. I am going to call the bank just to check if they will waive it.

Oh, Lord!!!  Well, he's a big boy and should check his account before he inserts his card!!  Hell, he can do that over the phone!!

I'm with you - don't think I'd be giving him access to the bill paying account, either.

I hate Bank of America.  I made a business deposit there once and they acknowledged that they received a number of checks.  Well some time between when I dropped them off and when they went to deposit them.  They lost the check.  They acknowledged that they lost the check, however they would not deposit the money in the account.  They wanted me to try to figure out who the check was from and go back to that customer and ask that they put a stop payment on that check and reissue a new check.

After that problem, we pulled our money and went elsewhere.

Its your contribution to their bailout.  BofA needs to be very fee generating. Going to the manager may help.  threatening to pull your account may help big time.
This abuse will not stop and the fees will go up
Good luck - I have banking connections and we are scheduling fee increases late 09

Isn't that frustrating Gail? I do the same thing with my DH and he's overdrawn it too many times for my comfort.  I went so far as to take his damn card away. My saving grace is that I check the balance daily and transfer more money quickly before they assess the fees.

Fees are outrageous today. I wish they would start just declining the transaction, but they don't make money like that.
