Inpatient or Out?
I called BCBS today to make sure they got all of my paperwork. They asked me if it was for inpatient or outpatient. I assumed inpatient because I figured I'd be there at least overnight. Anyone with VSG know the right answer?? I said inpatient and they couldn't find any paperwork for me. So either, I'm wrong or Dr. S's office hasn't sent it in like I thought they did last week.
Hey Girl---
I am sure you will be inpatient---it sucks that the Dr's office is not on the ball---or it could just be that it it is setting on someones desk at the insurance company waiting to be put into there system---Hang in there---but be persistent and keep on top of it---you don't want to fall through the cracks somewhere!

I was told by my surgeon that if everything goes as planned, and you recover from the surgery as planned, and you pass the leak test, you will only have to be in the hospital one night. My catheter wasn't even taken out until the next am. There are many more things that go on the 2nd day, there is no way you are leaving for at least 24 hrs Leslie
Definitely call Dr. S's office in the morning. I've written this before - it took many calls back and forth between his office and the insurance company before all of my paperwork was sent/received. If at all possible, get copies of everything and fax it to the insurance company yourself. It's the only way you can guarantee that it gets there in a timely manner I'm afraid!

It is disappointing but keep your chin up. Nobody cares more about this but you, no matter how sympathetic and nice the people at the doctor's office might be. I had to hound my docto's office staff and I love them to death. They were so supportive but I had to keep on top of things to make sure nothing was missed.
Good luck! It'll all work out.
