Tell me about you please
hey, I had RNY by Dr. Roe (LOVE him just like MoeMoe) in October of 2007. I've lost 90 lbs, am stuck there now for a while but I know it's because I am not on the ball. I'd like to lose another 10 and LOVe to lose another 20 BUT am happy with the way I look so as long as the scale doesn't start creeping up, I am not stressing.
I mean, it's amazing that I fit into size 10 jeans when I remember buying size 24 just a couple years ago. Instead of the lbs, I keep an eye on clothign size and measurements because as you lose fat and gain muscle, sometime4s the scale won't move but your clothes get looser.

I had surgery 2/12/08 w/ dr. steele from bayview. she is awesome. i've lost 110 lbs though i gained 8 or so back. haven't been eating or exercising properly for a couple months now so no weight loss. I have at least 60 more lbs to lose. someone tape my mouth shut and put me in a hamster wheel, will ya?
Hey there, good luck in your journey. I had my surger 9/29/08 with Dr. Averbach at St. Agnes he is the best and so are his staff, they made this whole process easy and gave me very little to worry about. So far at 7 months out I have lost 99 lbs. I hit a huge plateau at 6 months but it has finally broken and things are starting to move again. This is definately the best decision I have ever made, I feel so much better and for once in my life I feel normal. I have about another 45 lbs. to go to my goal. The Dr. is happy with the # I picked.
Good luck!!
Good luck!!

Hi Mellie...I dont post much here but thought Ide respond to you . I had RNY 5 years ago 3-10-04 with Dr. William Roe (fabulous surgeon), I went from a tight size 24 to a size 8...Ive lost a total of 103 lbs and have reached my doctors goal, I was considered a light weight going into this with just minor problems. I would love to lose the last 4 lbs, but I am VERY HAPPY with how I feel and look. I have had no problems at all....I try to stick to the basics still to this day...protein first and no drinking before, during or after my meals. I also do moderate execise...I dont just sit around. I do allow one day a week for a total gorge fest, it works for me and helps me to maintain my loss by knowing I have that one day for any junk I want and I am not missing out on anything. But anyway welcome to the community and good luck in your journey...I know it was the best decision I made and Ide do it again in a heartbeat!

Hi Mellie!!!!
I had my RNY surgery May 8, 2008 with Dr. Mark Kligman at UMMC in Baltimore. So far I have lost 250 pounds with 20 pounds to go until I hit the goal Dr. K set for me. However, I'm still classified as obese even with that much loss, I'm the healthiest I have ever been and I would be happy if I don't lose another pound. However I will be having plastic surgery in the future so I can lose more weight from the skin removal and trust me I have a LOT of skin to remove LOL Even if I were to hit my goal weight that the doctor set for me, I would still be classified as obese but at least I may look healthy rather than sickly from being too thin.

Hi,
My name is Erin and my surgery is in one week at GW Univ with Dr. Paul Lin. It's been a long journey and i am so excited to have my new 'birth' day. I was hoping to have surgery a few years ago but shattered my elbow after my puppy jumped off the deck and I went with him...long story short, I had to get my arm in working order, quite literally, before I could focus on thsi again.
Looking forward to becoming a loser!
