Thursday i got to meet with Dr singh for the first time one on one. (well one on two my hubby went with me). i have a hernia , sleep apnea, depression/anxiety, gird and a torn tendon in my ankle for 2 years that wont heal because of the weight. The only thing he say i have to do is get my gall bladder checked and continue on my 6 month diet (which is over august 6Th) and then he said i will be scheduled for the surgery. I guess my question is i have bcbs-anthem. should i get a letter from my PCP saying its medically necessary , should i write a letter myself. what else should i have them submit besides my med records and the request? i have had the phyc evaluation already and i need to have a follow up to go over diet after surgery. He is not scheduled me for any other blood work or any tests. i am just nervous about not getting approved because i feel i have not done enough. what else can i do? should i have my ankle doctor write a letter too? any advice would be great!! thanks

The office is really on the ball.  I did nothing but jump through the hoops they told me too and they did the rest.  I did not have anthem - I did have bcbs.  I actually needed 2 letters of reference.  What surgery are you planning to have?

Amber -

The surgeon's office insurance coordinator should be tell you everything you need to do to comply with your insurance needs.

If you still have questions, call your insurance company.

Good luck and hang in there,

Tia
