Nessa last year Dr. Singh told my husband he had to have a stress test done. He was all for it until he found out that they would be doing an IV and putting in dye at some point. He pretty much backed and said forget it, Im not doing it. He is a stubborn bear sometimes. I pretty much told myself then that if he doesn't want to do it then he doesn't want the surgery bad enough. I backed off and said suit  yourself and NEVER brought it up. About a week later he came in and said schedule the stupid test. I did and he went and nothing more was said. After he had time to think about what a baby he was being and how he couldnt get the surgery without it he decided to do it. Men are big babies. He also did not want to have a sleep study done (this was several years ago) and his NP said fine suit yourself and left it alone. He finally came back and told her he would do it. Now he badgers everyone else to get it done. I would tell him that your either committed to doing this or not and if you are then you need to do what they say period the end, if not, enjoy  your life im getting my surgery regardless. Then leave it alone. He will come around.

oh Mellie,  I have done that. I don't nag him. I've told him  'fine i'll cancel all the tests' (cause everything is scheduled already)  and he says  'no he's just venting'.  but i don't want to hear it.

Nessa if he's just venting then let it roll off your shoulders. This should be an exciting time right now for both of you. Don't let it get you upset.

Nessa:

Believe me I had every test done that could possibly have been ordered:
I left my consult with no less then 15 different test/labs to be done.
I balked but did them anyway and I am so glad I did .  If DVR suggest
a IVC filter for Brian tell him get one.  I had no issue with the RNY but nearly two
years later I developed a blood clot and having the IVC filter saved me days in
the hospital !!!

DVR is very careful and will only suggest a test if he feels it is needed.
I spent 4 months preop and six weeks postop on 24/7 oxygen therapy
and also did 2 months of pulminary physical therapy which made
me ready to get to the business of exercise as soon as DVR gave the OK.

This is a life changing surgury and very difficult but I would not change one
single thing/test I had done.
