POST-OPS!!!! WHAT......
for me, it was getting in all my fluids. I spent my first few weeks after surgery really badly dehydrated. I would say that is my number 1. Now that I'm almost a year out, I think my biggest gripe with the whole thing is not being able to drink and eat at the same time and worrying about eating enough/too much. I'm also dealing with food ruts that i'm afraid to get out of because what I do I KNOW works for me. However depending on the type of food I worry about eating too much. I worry about stretching my pouch but then I eat something like triscuits and then I know I haven't stretched it out because triscuits, although I LOVE them, they are the death of me LOL
Water is the same issue I had pre-op: I don't get enough liquids in, so I don't have problems not drinking while I eat.
Hmmm, rememebring to eat slowly. Yesterday, my friend and I split 3 tacos at Chipotle and 5 minutes later, looked at each other and said,"WTH did we just do?" Ate way too fast. Thankfully, nothing bad happened because of that.
My other big problem is remembering that since my gall bladder was removed too, I have to be extra careful with spicy food. That extra hot salsa I ate yesterday did not sit well in my stomach.

I'm a day late replying to this but I thought I'd share the things I struggle the most with.....
1. getting in enough fluids....i have had to consciously work at it every single day since my surgery
2. keeping motivated to stick with my exercise routine
3. finding desserts that satisfy my mental need to join the crowd (like at family get togethers, holidays, work parties, etc.) but also satisfy my desire to not get sick. (my beloved NSA ice cream has been making me nauseated and has been putting me into a bit of a coma lately).
