Just curious for those of you who have done the liquids before. What kind of broths did you drink if you used them? Marty has been doing the EAS protein drinks, water, tea, and lipton soup but I think they are all getting a little old. Any specific ones?

Mellie -

When Boxer Heather & I were in Wegman's the other day, we saw, in addition to beef and chicken broth, seafood and vegetable broth, too.

I thought Marty just started on liquids?  I'm so confused!!  LOL!!!!

Crystal Light has TONS of flavors.  And I think EVERY powdered drink mix now comes in s/f, too - Kool-Aid, Country Time, Lipton, Hawaiian Punch, etc.

Don't forget the popsicles!!

Where is Wegmans? I think I need to venture away from my local store which has nothing.

Well he started Sunday I think, but let's face it liquids would get old to me after a few days. lol. I start next week and im so not looking forward to it but trying to change my attitude about it now so I dont fail going into it.

Going to grab him some pops and jello tonight..

I THOUGHT he'd just started!  And girlie, don't even talk to DVR's RNY patients - when we come home, we're on clear-full liquids for 2-3 WEEKS post-op!!!  LOL!!!

Anyway, Wegman's is in Hunt Valley - the Shawan Road exit off of 83.

The way you have to look at ANYTHING that brings wls closer is just that - just another step in the journey!

We were told 2 weeks liquids before surgery and 2 weeks after. Then 2 weeks of mushies. I told him by then time we get on solids we will probably have lost 30 pounds just from liquids, lol!!

Hunt Valley...too far...poo

Well I know its going to suck but Im ok with it sucking as long as it helps in the long run and that much off before surgery is that much less to take off after.

I used lots of spices in my broths.  You can change them a little to make them a little less boring.  Nothing will really make the liquid diet decent.  It's just something we all have to muck through!

Good luck!

Two of my favorite liquids were Noodles & Company Chicken Noodle Soup and Panera's French Onion Soup (drained).  Delicious!

Plain broths made me nauseous!

I like the Campbell's broth, regular cooking broth was just gross to me BUT Weigman's if you can get out there has a ton of different choices of broth.  It will give you verity while on broth.
