Highs and Lows
Here's my final update before next weekend's 39 mile walk for AVON Breast Cancer.
I have reached my fundraising goal and my walking partner has also reached hers. We beat the pavement this weekend at Walmart and did a bake sale. I personally baked about 14 dozen cupcakes, 2 pineapple upside down cakes, rice krispie treats and brownies. We raised about $450. So I will be walking next weekend.
On the down side - my grandchildrens house burned down this weekend. It has left them with nothing. The American Red cross has come in and put them up in temporary shelter. Thank the dear lord that no one was hurt and the grandkids were at my house when it happened. We are so blessed everyday to have what we have. T
There are so many people out there going through tradgedies. Whether it's breast cancer or fires or something else. Just take a minute out of your day and be kind to someone for no reason at all.

OMGosh Lisa first let me say SO sorry to hear about your grandchildrens home. That is just devastating. Your family will def be in my thoughts and prayers! I am very thankful that noone was injured!
Also I am so glad you were able to meet your goal. What a phenominal success story you will be at the walk! Awesome!

Lisa,
I am so sorry to hear about the fire. Thank goodness no one was hurt. I second the offer of helping if we can. Is there anything that is needed that we may be able to help with? While hard on everyone, this has to be especially difficult for the children.
Congratulations on meeting your fund raising goals. I am so impressed your dedication to this cause in this way - no small feat indeed!

Deb:
As always thanks so much for your support. We try so hard to shield the kids from everything "bad" in this world, but then all it takes is one thing that they will probably never forget in their lives.
Lewis, Larry, Ava and I all appreciate your thoughts.

We went to the house yesterday morning just to see if there was anything that we could salvage. Nothing. What wasn't burned was damaged or covered in soot or water logged and dirty. My grandson's birthday was just last Wednesday. He was devistated, because his new bike was gone. How do you explain that to a six year old?
But things can be replaced, lives can't.
