3 THINGS FOR WEDNESDAY!

Good morning!  Happy Hump Day!!  And Happy Earth Day!!  And Happy Administrative Professional's Day!!  Wow!!  That's a lot of Happys!!!

Got some news yesterday that wasn't totally unexpected (to me) - Dad has to have some renal angioplasty - AGAIN!  It seems as if the artery to his remaining functioning kidney has decided to block again, so he needs to go to St. Joe's and have it UNBLOCKED!  Pretty minor stuff, as far as surgery goes, but it HAS to work, or Dad will be on dialysis, and he's already stated that AIN'T happening!!!  Of course, he knows what will happen should he need dialysis and refuse, so as far as I can see, there's no choice.  His doctor (new to us), comes highly recommended, so I at least feel good about that.  Then, of course, there's the whole issue of Dad being a bad patient.  SIGH.  I'm already trying to brace myself.  This'll happen in the next couple of weeks, not sure when.  I'm glad I went with him - although the Dr. probably wasn't, because I ALWAYS come armed with a list of questions!!!!

Given all of that, today I'm grateful for:

1.  That Dad has even agreed to have this procedure.  It IS a last resort, so keep your fingers crossed.

2.  That I avoided good bad stuff last night at TJ's AND got to see Nessa!!!

3.  This is HUGE - Many of you know that the one boss I have has been a complete jerk from day one, making me loathe (more than usual) to come into work each and every day.  I truly dreaded it, and usually spent most of my day trying to figure out how I could hide his body.  Anyway, the other day, he calls me in (never a good sign), asks me to close the door (another bad sign), and APOLOGIZES to me.  APOLOGIZES.  For his horrible treatment of me.  It seems that someone (a co-worker who never even knew me prior to this), was spreading rumors about me to this new boss.  Of course, the boss, being new, and needing this co-worker, chose to believe all he'd heard about me, and treat me accordingly.  Well, he finally came to his senses, checked into some things, hence, his apology.  The boss also told me that HE had righted his wrongs, and made sure everyone knew he was wrong about me.  Thank God!!  I have to say that this is probably what's accounted for all the storms we've had.  The end of the world is apparently coming.  I can't tell you how much NICER things are now.  I accepted his apology, thanked him and told him we just need to move on.  The really sad thing is this co-worker, who's been sipping Haterade, is 67 years old!!!  Give me a break!!!  Fortunately, he's retiring in a month, so hopefully, the cohesiveness will continue.  I am just SO relieved.

So that's it!!!  I hope everyone has a great day!!

Morning Nessa!!

Yeah, I'm glad Dad will have the procedure, too.  Hopefully, he'll be okay after this.  Yeah, until the next thing!!

You know, there was SOOOO much stuff at TJ's that I would've bought pre-op - it amazes me that I actually, most of the time, now THINK about what I'm buying, reading labels, etc.  That DOESN'T mean that I didn't want the chocolate covered pretzels, orange sticks or cookies, but I'm glad I didn't give in.  The fish I bought was yummy!!!  Oh, and I cooked the quinoa up - it was VERY salty from the broth, but quite tasty!!  Thanks for the tip!!

I can't wait to see you today!!!  I assume you know about www.allrecipes.com?  Love, love, love that site!!!!

Hugs,

T

Good Morning Everyone

Tia :  Mom called in your Dad's name to the prayer circle last night:  I pray he sails right thru this and gets back to himself.
And I'm so happy to hear the boss appologized - don't you wish you had a video or audio tape of that.  I say find somewhere to hide the coworkers body!

Today I am grateful for :

1.  That I get to meet some of you for lunch today!!!!

2.  That Dad is at this moment at the Dr. getting his hearing aids !!!  Thank the dear

Lord!!!!

3.  That I did 1.5 weightcircuit and cardio last night:  I did it once , jumped in the pool and 10 minutes later the storm hit -  lightning means no one in  the pool.  Deb waited it out but

as soon as I left the gym the sky continued to light up so I seriously doubt  they had class.

Anyway I changed and did another 1/2 weight circuit and another 15 minutes on the tradmill.

so I hope everyone has a great day!!!

I am SO glad you're coming with today, especially since I couldn't see you last night!!!!

Thank Mom for me - she's da bomb!!!!  Actually, could she pray that he DOESN'T get back to his old self???  LOL!!!

Let me tell you, you could've knocked me over with a feather when he apologized.  As you of all people well know, I'm a master grudge holder, and it was just festering each and every day.  I feel like the weight of the world's been lifted off of me.  And don't worry, I have PLANS for the co-worker!!

Thank GOD your Dad is getting his hearing aids!!  I know how frustrating that's been.  I bet he's amazed at how much better he can hear.  How long before he says, "I should've done this a while ago!"?

See you at lunch!!

Wow, Tia - Truly some major developments in your life! Here's hoping that surgery is successful for your Dad. You know you will have all of us praying for him.

I have to say I am really impressed by this boss opening up and being straight with you. There are not many people out there who would take the time to admit they were wrong like that. I am so glad the truth came out for your peace of mind and for the betterment of the entire office - WOW!

Today, I am a little ticked because the storm**** right in time to cancel my pool classes last night. I hung around for a bit hoping that it would pass (I did not have other work out clothes with me). Finally I realized it was not going to happen and that there were other things I could be doing with my time, so I left. Hopefully, I can make it up over the rest of the week.

Today, I am grateful for...

1 - The anticipation of the gorgeous weather to come this weekend. The forecast just keeps getting better and better! I feel an outdoor walk coming on!

2 - For the blessing of my family and friends.

3 - For the strength to persevere. Even though I get frustrated with myself as I struggle from time to time. I am still resolved to win and achieve my goals. If I did not have the will to hang in there, I don't know what I would do. This week has been better. I still struggle in the evenings. But I have been doing better and the scale is going in the right direction.

Have a great hump day!

Deb - To say that I was stunned is the understatement of the year!!!  Truly!!!  I can't recall the last time I was speechless!!!

I have a REALLY hard time forgiving people who have wronged me and particularly the ones who offer half-hearted apologies.  The fact that he did apologize and was evidently sincere went a long way with me.  Hopefully, the office will continue to operate smoothly and stress-free from now on.

Sorry you had to get out of the pool!!  That was some storm!  Happy was flipping out, looking for furniture to hide behind.  Note to you:  Keep other workout clothes in the trunk of your car!!  Actually, I'm surprised, with you being as organized as you are, that you don't already!!

I know you struggle, as we all do, but like I've repeatedly said, I always admire you for just picking yourself up, dusting yourself off and forging ahead.  That's the mark of a successful person!!  You inspire me!

Hugs,

Tia

Tia, I don't really think I am as strong as you make me sound. However, I do think that I get a lot of inspiration and encouragement from the board and you that help me persevere. So thank you very much!

Tia so sorry about your dad and I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.. Thats a great outcome about your boss.. I hope things are better for you now. I am sure it took alot for hin to apoligize but thats what he needed to do.....I am so happy that this happened for you....Take care and enjoy the new found peace... I have to take an elderly neighbor to the doc and then take care of my blood work...I will do I am thankful later today....Have a great day...

Thanks, Julie!!!  My "Dad is a bad patient" stories are legend here!!!  He is SOOOOOOO stubborn!!  For some reason, he listens to me much more than he'll listen to my Mom or brother - probably because I just hound him to death!!!  LOL!!!!

That is so sweet that you do for your elderly neighbors - so many elders have no one - it disgusts me, too, because in other countries, their elderly is revered, while we just seem to give up on ours.  So sad.

Have a great day!  Here's to painless needle sticks!!!

Hugs,

Tia
